Please note that these hotel blocks are a two night minimum.Also note that Austin has several major hotel chains that are all very conveniently located, so if you have points or just prefer another chain, feel free to look around!

Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown

There is a two night minimum for this hotel. This is more of a condo style building so it may not have all of the typical hotel amenities. There is also limited availability, check out the Hilton if needed!

Wyndham

The Austin Airport is conveniently located about 15-20 minutes from downtown Austin, it is usually very easy to get an uber or lyft, so having a rental car for the weekend is definitely not a necessity!

Travel

If you haven't been to Austin before, Barton Springs is a must! It is a beautiful natural spring fed pool with a big grassy area to hang out. Be warned- the water stays cold year round!

Just a few miles west of downtown, this "hike" which we consider more like a lot of outdoor stairs, leads to one of the best views of the greater Austin area.(Note- this is about a five mile drive from the hotel)

Mount Bonnell

Tour the capitol building- they have free tours frequently throughout the week, just double check the times on the website.This is just under a mile walk from the hotels!

Texas Capitol

Again for the folks traveling to Austin for the first time, we highly encouraging you to check out the mayhem of "dirty sixth" street. Check out any of the bars between Brazos and Red River, or just walk along the street which is a pedestrian area at night. This area is never boring!

Sixth Street (AKA Dirty Sixth)

Stroll down South Congress for lots of shops and restaurants, plus murals like the "I love you so much" sign at Jo's coffee shop. If you are hungry, we highly recommend pizza from Home Slice!
