If you haven't been to Austin before, Barton Springs is a must! It is a beautiful natural spring fed pool with a big grassy area to hang out. Be warned- the water stays cold year round!

Just a few miles west of downtown, this "hike" which we consider more like a lot of outdoor stairs, leads to one of the best views of the greater Austin area.

(Note- this is about a five mile drive from the hotel)

Tour the capitol building- they have free tours frequently throughout the week, just double check the times on the website.

This is just under a mile walk from the hotels!

Again for the folks traveling to Austin for the first time, we highly encouraging you to check out the mayhem of "dirty sixth" street. Check out any of the bars between Brazos and Red River, or just walk along the street which is a pedestrian area at night. This area is never boring!

Stroll down South Congress for lots of shops and restaurants, plus murals like the "I love you so much" sign at Jo's coffee shop.
