Claire and Julian met in medical school during the first weeks as part of the same mentoring group. Having both grown up in Los Angeles before going to college in the Midwest, they share a love of the outdoors, of food (especially dessert), of science and learning, and of their loved ones. They quickly became close, sharing meals and adventures while studying together and persevering through medical school at Touro University in Vallejo.

On New Years Eve 2021 they made things official. The years that followed were full of travels and friends and family. From the music festival Coachella in 2022, to traveling to Barcelona, and visiting family and friends in Utah and Colorado while climbing several mountains, they've been able to connect with each other's community.

With all the wonderful things, they've also supported each other through moving several times, through the challenges of working in healthcare, and through the passing of several close grandparents. With the support of their families and friends, these difficulties have only made their relationships stronger.

In May 2023, Julian and Claire moved in together with their two cats, Ricky and Luca. Living in Bakersfield, they completed a year of rotations with different doctors to continue their training. In February of 2024 at Filoli Gardens in Woodside, CA, Julian asked Claire to marry him.
