Not everyone may have heard the story of how Sam proposed.

To set the scene, we were on holiday in Paphos, Greece with a group of close friends. We were all having a lovely evening overindulging in the local tipple & playing games. As the group slowly disintegrated into chaos, Johnny Cash comes on & with that, Sam & I start spinning each other wildly round the room.

As we embraced, I noticed that Sam's heart was beating frantically. Worried that he had overdone himself, I suggested we go outside for some fresh air. We walk down to the pools edge under the midnight stars. Sam starts talking about us & the future, which to this day I can't remember word for word, maybe because of the alcohol consumed or maybe because of what happened next, but what I do remember was that it was the sweetest thing anyone had ever said to me.

Sam got down on one knee, pulled out a ring & asked me to marry him. Blinded by the sparkling diamonds I grabbed the ring like Golum himself, stunned to silence only looking at the ring. Sam nudged me, patiently waiting for an answer to his big question, which I replied "Are you sure?" and when he said "Of course", I finally replied "Yes". We spent the early morning hours together on the sun lounger looking up at the stars wondering what adventures the future would hold for us.

The morning after the night before, I approached my two friends and said with a serious voice "Something happened last night". One friend squealed "You got engaged", the other "You broke up". When I showed my hand now wearing a ring we hugged all at once, jumped up and down screaming, not quite believing what had happened.

Then came project engagement photoshoot. All credit goes to my friends, Beth & Amy, for co-ordinating & directing the wonderful photos we now have to remember that special time.
