Our Wedding

We most definitely did not win "Most Likely To Get Married to Each Other" in our high school yearbooks! We knew OF each other from our days at DSHA/MUHS but never really met back then. We reconnected on a dating app post-college when Tom was in Milwaukee completing his last couple years of medical school (romantic, we know).&nbsp;

If you ask Tom, he will usually avoid the dating app part of the story completely and tell you how we first met in person. During our junior year of college in 2016, we met on a road trip coming home from the Mardi Gras celebration in St.Louis. We both needed rides back to Wisconsin and ended up in the same car via mutual friends. Maybe it was the giraffe onesie, maybe it was Tom "studying", but all we really remember is we hardly exchanged a word all 6 hours of that ride.

Tom’s Version of the Meet Cute 

From the start, we knew we had a great thing going. Our first date was at a coffee shop in downtown Milwaukee. After about 2 hours nursing the same cup of coffee, we both felt like maybe we'd like hanging out together again - perhaps we'd like hanging out again and again and again for a long time too. We quickly realized that in many ways, we are fairly different people. Tom didn't know a thing about throw pillows, and Clare didn't feel compelled to dedicate emotional energy to the performance of the Milwaukee Buck's 6th man. When we came to appreciate those aspects that make someone who they are - what they care about, who they care about, how they treat others, what they value, being a Green Bay Packer fan - we knew we were aligned. As the relationship progressed, we appreciated how we balance each other out well and ultimately fit into each other’s lives in ways that often felt effortless. From our date nights in Milwaukee, to a year of long distance filled with many FaceTimes, to officially living together in Seattle, it has felt right each step of the way. Three years later and we could not be more thrilled to commit to spending the rest of our lives together, and celebrate this exciting milestone alongside all of our fantastic family &amp; friends. THANK YOU to all of you for joining us in Door County for our special day and to all of you sending your love from afar. We understand that a weekend dedicated to making it up to Door County is no small request and feel so humbled by your support. We love you all!

"The Big House" has been a special place for Clare's family for exactly 100 years. Located on O'Brien Road, with stunning views of Kangaroo Lake, this spot is our textbook definition of paradise. We encourage you to swing by if you are around, or even on your way out of town! We will set up lawn games, and offer light refreshments. Parking is available in the large field on the intersection of Logerquist &amp; O'Brien Roads. Please follow directional signage upon arrival. If you need to drop guests off before parking, follow the signs to the house!

September is the best time to be up in Door County! We aren’t the only ones who think so - We recommend booking your hotel accomodations as soon as possible, as lodging books up quickly. Transportation will be provided to/from the reception venue for those staying at either hotel option below. Please note: We have a room block at The Landmark, which has a 2 night minimum. If you are looking for 1 night only, you will want to call Stone Harbor directly to book. Though we do not have a room block at Stone Harbor, we will plan to provide transportation to/from the reception.

Is there a dress code? What should I wear?Dress code is cocktail attire, but we encourage you to wear what you feel best in. Layers are strongly recommended, as we anticipate Fall weather with chilly evenings! Will the ceremony/reception be indoors or outdoors? Ceremony will be indoors, but reception will be outside under a tent right on the water! Ladies, heels are fine, as the tent will have a floor. What is the weather normally like this time of year?The average high temperature in Door County, Wisconsin in September is&nbsp;71°F and the average low is 51°F. How far in advance should I book accommodations?The sooner the better! September is still peak season in Door County, and things book up fast. Where will the ceremony and reception take place?The ceremony will be a full mass at Stella Maris Catholic Church in Egg Harbor, followed by dinner and dancing at Alpine Resort! Please note: There are multiple Stella Maris churches, we are at the Egg Harbor location! Will there be other wedding events I can attend?Stay tuned for more details! We will be in town both Thursday &amp; Saturday, and will coordinate some fun activities for folks who are in town to join. What is the RSVP deadline? RSVPs will be due July 19th, 2025. Are kids invited to the wedding?Immediate family only! Will transportation be provided?Yes, but ONLY to/from The Landmark and Stone Harbor.
