Clarissa and Steele met in the middle of the 2020 pandemic. They discovered they share a love of fishing, camping, heavy metal music, and good food! Their first date was a fishing / camping trip on the flattops of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, where Clarissa caught the first, biggest, and most fish - beating Steele 6 fish to 1 - hence, the 6/1 wedding date! (Steele's idea!) That first date was chronicled in Clarissa's book:
"I Can Bait My Own Hook: True Tales of A Fisher-mom"!
During their first year together, they spent as much time as they could camping, fishing, and relaxing together, but it wasn't without its bumps. During that first year, Steele beat Cancer and COVID and Clarissa underwent multiple surgeries and survived a mild heart attack. In the spring of 2021 they made a commitment to focus on getting (and staying) healthy and on September 11, they made the commitment to spend the rest of their lives together when Steele popped the question!
That's their story so far - stay tuned to see where the future takes them as they prepare to say "I do!"
