Our Wedding

Our story actually began 23 years ago… Devon was 8 years old and the biggest Nanaimo Clippers fan, so much so that he never missed a home game. Claudia was just 3 years old and C-Dog’s number one fan! If you know, you know! Both Claudia and Devon crossed paths all their lives. Whether it was just a few sections away cheering for the home team, attending the same band festivals in school, or being at the same parties just rooms away, they were always close to meeting, but never had. Fast forward 18 years, Devon was in his mid twenties, working with his brother, Brandon at an electrical supplier and spending most weekends getting together with friends out at the local bars. The boys always enjoyed a good games night with close friends and family! Claudia was in her early twenties, had just graduated from a cosmetology academy, and was beginning her career. Brandon and his wife Tiffany loved to host family and close friends! They’d hold regular games nights or Brandon would host at a local bar. That year, Claudia had met Brandon and Tiffany through a mutual friend and they invited her to join in on they’re usual gatherings. Claudia and Devon met doing something they both value more than anything, spending time with family and friends. The two bonded and became closer friends every time they gathered. Through Covid, the one thing they missed the most was seeing family and loved ones in person. Thus began, the weekly video call that is credited with creating the bond they have now. It’s funny, when you aren’t in a room with someone, sharing your deepest secrets, biggest fears and greatest moments becomes so much easier. Saturday nights easily became the day they both looked forward to the most. After talking, and talking, and talking some more, they realized that all their lives they’d come within moments of meeting each other, but never had… they believe this is for a reason. Sometimes in life, you don’t meet people until you’re meant to. Some things are truly meant to be. After a few great years of building a beautiful friendship, both began to realize that there was much, much more there. Everything happens for a reason, and Claudia and Devon believe they were meant to find each other when they did. Neither could have imagined the incredible friendship they had would have evolved into the love it is today. It’s really true what they say, you marry your best friend!

There’s nothing that we love to do more than grab a group of friends, and belt out our favorite songs over a pint! Come join us for some pre-wedding fun!
