Wintzell's Oyster House is a classic Mobile spot! There are several locations now in Alabama, but the downtown Mobile location is the OG. GREATER MOBILE BAY AREA

If this is your first time to the Mobile Bay area, we recommend carving out time to visit Fairhope, AL. It's is approximately a 30-45 minute drive from Downtown Mobile and a beautiful, small, coastal town. Kate spent her childhood summers at her grandparents' bay house located in Point Clear, so Fairhope holds a special place for her and so many that call Mobile home. Visit the Fairhope Municipal Pier-- stop by Panini Pete's or The Coffee Loft beforehand and picnic at the park, or walk along the trail in South Beach Park that begins at the Pier.

The Grand Hotel is also a premier spot in the area and, if staying at hotel doesn't fit within your budget, you should consider eating at one of their restaurants to at least soak in the views and stroll the grounds. There is also a golf course connected to the hotel if that is of interest!

If you are looking for beaches over bay views, Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, and Dauphin Island are all located nearby and can make for quick day trips or extended stays. Dauphin Island offers a more local, beach town feel while Orange Beach and Gulf Shores provide more options for visitors and guests looking for the Gulf Coast beach experience.
