Guests should plan to fly into Kona International Airport. Please book flights early to ensure availability.

Travel around Big Island can be tricky, as it is very spread out and there is only limited public transportation. Uber/Lyft are usually available around the airport during the day and would be fine if you plan to stay at/around your hotel exclusively, but please know that these services are much more limited than on the mainland. If you are planning on traveling around the island then we recommend you rent a car.

There are two main options for car rentals. We recommend using Turo (available as an app and a website at www.turo.com). Turo is best described "the Airbnb of cars," and each rental is from an individual. This means that there are a wide variety of options, rates are generally cheaper than from big companies, and the money is more likely to be retained in the local community.
