Alec and I met through mutual friends and went to the same school together. We clicked right away when we first met and he became one of my best guy friends. Alec asked me to be his girlfriend on November 20th, 2016 when we were at a party. Alec didn't want to be in a relationship at the time because he was leaving for basic training at the end of 2016. Thankfully our mutual friend Kellen knocked some sense into him and Alec asked me out. He might of not remembered it the next day but I'm happy he decided to keep me as his girlfriend because I couldn't see myself without him with me.

Now look at us...we're finally getting married!

Alec and I started going on yearly trips back in 2022 and for our 2023 trip we decided to go out to the Black Hills for a week. I had a little gut feeling that he was going to propose but a couple days went by and he still didn't pop the question. After riding side by sides for a whole day we stopped at Key Stone to look at some of the shops and one of the shops had a lot of jewelry I was looking at. Alec came up to me and asked me not to get my hopes up because he wasn't going to propose. I was a little bummed out but I wasn't going to let that ruin the rest of our vacation. So a few days went by and we were out walking along the creek at sunset that was right next to our airbnb. It was a gorgeous night. I decided to pick at Alec a little and said " Man, this would of been such a good spot to propose at" then this man flew down to his knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring and asked me to spend forever with him. Obviously I said YES but at first I was so surprised. I didn't know what to say because he had me so convinced that he wasn't going to propose. So we spent the rest of our trip celebrating getting engaged. After waiting what feels like the longest seven years of my life I finally get to marry my best friend!
