Is there free parking?
Yes, there is a free parking lot provided inside the gates for guests. If there isn't enough room, they will have you park in overflow parking and golf cart you to the venue. Please arrive early in order to best support the staff in helping you navigate parking.
What is the dress code?
Semi-Formal: nice dresses, skirts, dress pants, or even slacks with dress shirts (ties optional).
Temperature can climb to the 90s in Austin, so I would dress on the warmer side. Fans will be provided for the ceremony :)))
Where do you recommend we stay?
The only hotel we have visited is the Hyatt Regency Austin: 208 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
It may be expensive, but I have only great things to say about it and it is only 8 minutes from the venue. IT ALSO HAS THE AMAZING VIEW OF LADY BIRD LAKE! Absolutely stunning!
Otherwise, I would highly recommend looking up Air B and Bs around Zilker close to the venue. The last I checked, there were some great options cheaper than some of the hotels :)))
What are some fun things to do around the venue for those who do not live in Austin?
[Fun]: Walk around Lady Bird Lake (can park next to the Austin Nature & Science Center for free access), Barton Springs (non-residents pay $9 for entry), Red Budd Trail, Blazer Tag, Bouldin Acres Pickle Ball Brunch, Pins & Wheels at Playland, Esther's Follies (comedy), Covert Park at Mount Bonnell, Pennybacker Bridge, Zilker Park, and Pease Park. Austin also has A LOT of paddleboarding options and a metro that will drop you off right in front of the Austin FC soccer stadium (season starts in February), if you are wanting some additional events|
[Food]: (we don't eat out much, so pardon our lack of taste): Highly recommend Whataburger or P. Terry's if you have never been to Texas, County Line, Old Thousand Dope Chinese, Loro Asian Smokehouse, Oasis (food is overrated but the view is great), Kerbey Lane (Austin favorite), Pool Burger, Ski Shores Cafe, Casa De Luz (Vegan), HMart & HoneyPig Korean BBQ, and Machi Sushi|
[Drink]: Freddo ATX, Buzzmill (open 24hr), Cosmic Saltillo, Emerald Tavern and Vigilante (fun place to play games), Tiki Tatsuya, Vintage Bookstore, Meanwhile Brewery, Batch Kolaches and Beer, Holdout Brewing, Barbarella, 4th Street (gay bars), 6th Street (aka "dirty six"-frat party vibes), Rainey Street (more laid back than 6th, but still high energy), Cockfight, Dead Rabbit, P6, 5th story of Mariot Hotel on Caesar Chavez, Cabana Club (pool during the summer), School House Pub, and honestly anything East side (because it is such a vibe) such as East End Ballroom or Central Machine Works Brewery|
[Coffee]: Mozart Coffee Roasters, BookPeople (fun to park here and walk to the Austin Central Library), Better Half, Sa-Ten Coffee and Eats, Stargazers, and Radio Coffee
->Tried to think of places that have easy access with free parking. Hope this helps!
