Our story began twelve years ago at a dive bar/venue in Philadelphia called Kung Fu Necktie. Spencer had started a record label out of his mom’s house and just released his friends’ 7″ record. It was called “No Funeral” and we wore formal all-black attire for the occasion. This night happened to be the record release show. As Spencer placed himself in the corner, packing record sleeves and setting up the merch table, he saw Colleen and felt that she had this magnetic persona. There was something that drew him to her and they have been partners ever since. Safe to say, a loud dusty dive bar and one seemingly normal night can change your entire life forever.

Spencer and Colleen lived in the heart of South Philly for many years, enjoying its charm, it’s history and the city’s thriving D.I.Y punk scene. Spencer was born in LA but moved out very young. He always dreamed of returning for good. Once Colleen touched down she too was hooked. We knew we were destined to be Angelenos. We made a pact with each other to move to Los Angeles. When the opportunity arose 5 years later, without hesitation we packed up and headed to the best coast.

Every Halloween, we created a home haunt transforming our entire yard into a cemetery. All year, we looked forward to October and our favorite holiday. We loved sharing our passion for Halloween with our neighborhood, keeping its spirit alive. During 2018 Colleen and Spencer teamed up and went all in, chasing a dream together. Discount Cemetery was born. We combined our background growing up in Punk Rock, with our love for Horror and Halloween. Now our life’s work would align with what we were most passionate about. And now, everyday could be Halloween.
