Q + A

Are children allowed at this wedding?

Yes! We'd like to share this happy occasion with all of our loved ones - kids included. We just ask that you use your best judgment as parents to determine whether your child would tolerate a 30 minute ceremony, a 5-hour reception, or none of the above.

What's the bar situation?

Open bar! Yippee! PLEASE NOTE: If guests under 21 years of age consume alcohol at this event, our vendor will close the bar for the entire wedding. Don't be that guy.

How do I get to and from the venue?

If you are local, the venue has plentiful parking. If you are coming from afar, we are organizing shuttles to take guests to and from the hotels where we've reserved blocks. We also highly encourage the use of ride shares or taxis, especially if you plan on drinking.

Colleen, what's your last name going to be?

Professionally and legally, I’ll be Dr. Gallagher. Socially, I’ll probably answer to most names - Mrs. Gallagher, Mrs. Laws, Mrs. Gallagher-Laws - whatever tickles your fancy. The only thing I will not be is “Mrs. Stephen Laws”. Stephen and I agreed it would be weird to share the same exact identity and, to be fair, he had it first.

Stephen, what’s your last name going to be?

Laws

Colleen, wtf is a "Chief Peep"?

I'm so glad you asked. There is a lovely podcast by the name of "Who Shat on the Floor at My Wedding?" where two brides try to solve the titular mystery. One of the brides prepared her bridal party long before the event, inviting them to share in her special day with handwritten letters. The other bride just notified the relevant guests as they arrived that they were her "peeps" for the day. The person of honor was dubbed "Chief Peep". Honestly, the name just tickled my funny bone. Aside from being a great gender-neutral term for a bridesperson, it's an easy way to allow my siblings to share a title that acknowledges how important they both are to me on the big day.

Isn't this the town where Karen Read allegedly killed a man?

Yes, but Colleen did go to vet tech school here for 2 years and did not get murdered even once.

I still have questions!

Contact Colleen or Stephen with your query! Unless it's the day of the wedding - then we're going to need to to phone a (different) friend.
