Q + A

Where should I stay?

Because of the number of available accommodations in Rome and the variability in travel plans for our guests, we have decided not to block book at one hotel. However, please find our recommendations below: If you would like to stay close to the church- Doubletree by Hilton Rome Monti If you would like to stay in Centro Storico- Albergo Santa Chiara If you would like to stay near the Colosseo- Nerva Boutique Hotel If you would like to stay near the venue- Appia Antica Resort or Ardeatina Park Hotel

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Formal (Black Tie Optional)

Will the event be indoor or outdoors?

The ceremony will be in a Catholic Church indoors. The reception will be a combination of indoor/outdoor, with the outdoors having a lot of manicured grass. When choosing shoes, please be mindful that streets in Rome are cobblestone and uneven.

What should we wear in churches in Rome?

When visiting a church, you must cover yourself—knees and shoulders must be covered (for men and women). Keep in mind when packing—shorts must be below the knee, or you must wear longer pants or bring a long skirt or light jacket to throw over your shorts and shirt. The mass ceremony will be about 1 hour. It is likely that a church here will contain a relic, or even fully display bodies of saints/popes. Be prepared that this will be visible for you to view (it eventually becomes less jarring, the more you get used to it). We encourage you to walk into any church off any street in Italy, because there will often be a painting or sculpture inside from a famous artist, or just something aesthetically stunning to look at.

Will there be transportation from the church to the reception venue?

Yes! You do not need to worry about transportation from the Church to the reception, as we are taking care of this for our guests.

Will there be parking at the venue?

Yes! There is a gravel parking lot at the venue for guests.

Can I call an Uber/Lyft in Rome?

Updated: Yes, Uber is now licensed to operate in Italy. Even if the app on your phone may open, we strongly encourage you to use the recommended app to call a licensed taxi. If you need a taxi, make sure you are only accepting rides in white, properly marked taxis. You should download the FreeNow App to be able to call a taxi (similar to what you are familiar with when calling an Uber). Also, try to relax and breathe when taking a taxi. Rome is chaotic, and being a passenger can be stressful; but those from Rome know how to drive effectively here. Lanes are merely a slight suggestion, and motorcycles are everywhere; however, there are very few accidents within the city.

What if I have an emergency in Italy?

Emergency For Police, Ambulance, Fire: Dial 112 (Ambulances and hospital stays are free in Italy.) Should you require mild medical attention while in Italy, pharmacists function a bit as doctors and have leeway to prescribe you things for mild illnesses. Keep in mind—Italians have stricter rules about chemicals in their medicines. A lot of treatments will be organic, holistic options.

I still have questions! What's the best way to get in touch?

More information coming soon!

How do we get home after the wedding?

We will have a taxi stand at the venue with a person designated to call taxis on our guests behalf. They will be available outside once guests are ready to leave.
