Connor and Emma met the beginning of their junior year of high school in 2012 at Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana in their chemistry class. In early November, Emma tweeted at Connor asking him to hang out. Their first date was sitting on a park bench by the lake getting to know each other and they began officially dating on 12/11/12. During their time at Culver together, they quickly got to know each other’s families and friends and couldn’t see their lives without one another in it. They spent a year and a half together at Culver before choosing to go to separate colleges.

Emma chose to attend High Point University in High Point, North Carolina and Connor chose to attend Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, making the long distance 13 hours away by car. Knowing the distance would be trying, they aimed to establish themselves as individuals but to regularly schedule visits to see each other and get to know each other’s friends. Freshman year was an adjustment but when Emma landed an internship in Tralee, Ireland, they took the opportunity to explore the world (or at least western Europe) together. For the first time, they lived and worked together and realized they wanted to continue doing that every summer going forward. This landed them in Wilmington, Ohio working and living together for the next two summers. Following senior year of college, both Emma and Connor moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with Connor’s family to figure out what to do for their future. When Emma began working for a startup in Cincinnati, Ohio, Connor joined her. After living in Cincinnati for 2 years, they moved to Denver, Colorado in April of 2021. They both work remotely for companies in Ohio.

In July of 2020, Connor took Emma to Colorado to get a much needed change of scenery during quarantine to spend the weekend hiking and exploring together. On July 25, Connor got down on one knee and popped the question *finally*. On December 11, 2021 they will not only be celebrating their 9 year anniversary but also the start of a new chapter together. They are so excited to celebrate with you, knowing that they would not have gotten here without the love and support from each one of you!
