Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

"So, how'd you guys meet?"

A lot had to go right (and wrong) for Connor and Olivia to meet. Olivia had unexpectedly lost her job in Colorado during the COVID-19 pandemic and took a leap of faith by moving to Chicago to live with her childhood and lifelong friend, Tina. Knowing a total of 3 people in the Midwest, she became quick friends with her coworker, Luke Ockwood, who lived in Milwaukee.

One weekend, Luke invited Olivia up to Milwaukee to hang out with some of his friends and potentially go to a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game. After denying the invitation initially, Olivia changed her mind and decided to take the Amtrak train from Chicago to Milwaukee.

On Saturday, June 5th, 2021 Olivia attended the baseball game with Luke and his friends. She only learned last minute that it was a birthday party for a guy named Connor. They had never met, but Olivia introduced herself at the tailgate and tried to go head-to-head with Connor in several rounds of "flip cup" and Corn Hole ("bags", for the Midwesterners). Connor spent the afternoon making Olivia laugh and promising her that "the Long Island Ice Teas at Miller Park are the best you'll find!" They were hooked on each other and didn't leave each other's side for the rest of the day.

The next day, Olivia texted Luke saying "Don't worry, you'll be invited to our wedding."

At the same time, Connor texted one of his friends saying, "She's either the one or she's going to break my heart."

Well, Olivia ended up being "the one" and Luke is invited to the wedding. So, everything came true in the end!

We love this story because it showed us that everything had to line up just right for us to meet that day. If God has a plan for two people he'll make it happen-- no matter what.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11

And if you ever wondered why our dog's name is "Brewer", now you know that it comes from the baseball team that was the backdrop for one of the most significant days of our lives.
