North Cascades National Park

This approximately a three hour drive from Seattle, WA. Pack a lunch and some snacks to make you way northeast to see this spectacular spot! You will need a National Parks pass to enter or you can pay an entrance fee. Pro tip, leave early morning to get here!


Recommendations:

1. Ross Lake Overlake

Drive up spot on the road. No hiking required.

2. Blue Lake Trailhead

Facts: 4.6 miles RT, 915 ft of elevation gain. This will take approximately 4 hours to complete

Snoqualmie Falls

This is an easy and accessible trail to access the viewpoints from above. Don't forget to take your photos.

1. Snoqualmie Falls Trails (get to the bottom of the falls)

Facts: 1.4 miles RT, 331 feet of elevation gain. This will take about an 1.5 hours to complete

Alki Beach Park

Grab a coffee/tea and pastry @ Alki Beach Cafe and then go to the park to see if you can see Orcas and Whales traveling north to Canada. They are most active before sunrise and after sunset. June is is the best time to see humpbacks as they return to the Salish Sea to feed on spawning herring.

Ballard Locks Fish Ladder

The Ballard Locks is a water passage that allows boats of all kinds to pass back and forth between Lake Union and the Puget Sound. These particular locks also function to keep the saltwater of Puget Sound out of the freshwater lakes of Seattle.
