Corina's story

In 2012, Sara (my bridesmaid/best friend) and I moved into a house in the foggy Outer Sunset district of San Francisco, CA while finishing up our last few years of college at San Francisco State University. A couple months later, 6 college guys moved directly across the street from us into what they famously referred to as "1559" and "the Lawton House."

While Sara and I were much too shy to try and become pals, we would occasionally say hi and I would notice one guy that seemed extra cute (yes you guessed it - Matt!).

One day... about 6 months after the guys moved in... my dad was dropping me off after a nice dinner (where I may have had one too many), and he asked, "so those guys across the street, you talk to any of them," and I replied, "ew no." But of course as soon as I got out of the car I noticed the guys were exiting their front door and I yelled very loudly across the street, "IS FELIX HOME?" Apparently he wasn't but guess who was...

Matt ran across the street, came over to me, and said, "Felix isn't home, but we're having a party tonight if you want to come over, can I get your number?" I couldn't believe the guy I had a crush on for a while was finally paying attention. So of course I played it cool, gave him my number, but said I was tired (god knows how many glasses of wine I drank earlier), and that I wasn't sure I'd make it out.

Sure enough the wine hit me and I passed out not long after I got inside my house, but I was ecstatic to find a text from him the next morning letting me know I was still welcome over. I texted him back letting him know I fell asleep, blah blah blah, and he said, "We're having another party tonight, you should come over." So I did... but noticed, it was more a small get together and later on found it was just an excuse to hang out... :).

Anyways, the rest is history. After that we spent nearly every day together. We were, and have continued to be, the best of friends.

Matt's story

My 5 friends and I had just moved into our new place in the Outer Sunset in San Francisco. Upon moving in, it only took us a couple days (maybe hours) to realize we had some girls our age living directly across the street.

Instead of rushing over to say hi and introduce ourselves, we chose the calm and cool approach. Stare out our window through the curtains whenever we saw movement and eventually let Felix go break the ice and we wait until he invites them over.

Well, eventually Felix did invite them over, but it happened to be the night I was leaving for another work get together. I remember hearing a knock at the door and letting "The blonde neighbor", later identified as Corina, in and introducing myself, pointing her to where Felix was as I was leaving for the night. I remember being bitter that I had agreed to go out that night since I didn't get to hang out with the "girl next door". The next morning, my roommates hinted that Corina had asked about my whereabouts.

Fast forward a weekend or so and my roommates and I are having a party at our place. As we're walking back to the house carrying a 30 pack and a handle of Sailor Jerrys, I remember seeing her again and gave her my phone number since we were having a party that night and I wanted her to come. She stood me up.

The next day we decided to drink again and I invited her over again. This time she showed up with her bottle of Sky vodka and we all drank and played beer pong. I started to like the girl next door.

Then it was probably a week or 2 later when she stole my heart. We'd been texting a lot and then she decided it would be "Fun" to come over, to a house full of 6 guys, and make food. I remember eating a delicious guacamole and tacos and my groomsman/roommate Dario saying "You know what they say, the best way to a mans heart is through his stomach".

I'd never heard something so true. Fast forward 5 years and she not only fills my heart with love, but my stomach too.
