Our Wedding

We had known of each other throughout high school, but we had never really crossed paths. One day during my senior year a mutual friend decided to play matchmaker (shoutout to Chad)! It took Bret a few weeks to actually reach out to me, but he eventually messaged me on Facebook, and we became fast friends. It took three months of hanging out for Bret to officially ask me to be his girlfriend, which I of course ruined with my awkwardness and answered, “sure, I already thought we were dating.”

The Beginning 

November 7, 2020 All week Bret had been talking about doing one last big meal on the grill before we put it away for the winter, so when Saturday came and he got steaks I really didn’t think anything of it. He was also adamant that I not help make dinner, which I didn’t fight him on because I had exams and finals to study for. When he yelled down the hall that dinner was ready, and I walked into the kitchen I was surprised that he had lit a candle, and plated the meals, so again in my awkwardness of ruining all things I said, “Wow this is fancy, should I be worried that this is our last meal, are you breaking up with me?” To which he got weird and walked out of the kitchen. He was gone for a few minutes and I yelled for him to hurry up because the steaks are getting cold. When he walked into the kitchen he looked strange, but then he got down on one knee with Arya by his side, to which I replied, “Are your serious, or are you just messing with me right now?!” He never actually said the words, “Will you marry me” and I never actually said “Yes”, but what kind of story would it be if we weren’t our awkward selves.

Ashley is the bride’s big sister. Some fun facts about her are that her favorite food is ranch dressing, and her theme song would be “I Am The Fire” by Halestorm. She is also the person you want in your corner for your whole life, you’ll never find a more fun, honest, and reliable person to call your friend.

Morgan is the bride’s little sister.  Some fun facts about her are that her favorite food is chicken tendies and her theme song is “Tequila” by The Champs.  She is also great at lightening the mood and keeping the atmosphere fun, ask her about her carrot and finger theory it’ll be sure to brighten your day.

Trisha is the bride’s cousin. Some fun facts about her are her favorite food is chicken parmigiana, and her theme song would be “Upside Down” by Jack Johnson. She is also one of the only people I know that is willing to run random half marathons with you if you ask her to.

Sarah is the bride’s childhood best friend.  Some fun facts about her are that her favorite food is pasta, and her theme song would be “Get Low” by Lil John & The East Side Boyz.  She is also the life of any party and a jack of all trades, so if you ever need a mascot, photographer, DJ, or to share some markers for an art project she is your go-to person!

Sarah 

Meghan (aka Tommy) is the bride’s college best friend.  Some fun facts about her are her favorite food is stir fry, and her theme song would be “Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato.  Tommy is also the person you want on your team if you want to win in a high anxiety Trap and Chip soccer competition! (Team Misfits for life!)

Shane is the groom’s brother. Some fun facts about him are that his favorite food is pizza and his theme song is “So Happy” by Theory of a Deadman.  He is also helping us get our wedding bodies, so if you need a caffeine addicted workout friend, and trainer he is definitely the person to hit up!

Jory is the groom’s brother. Some fun facts about him are that his favorite food is shrimp, and his favorite song is “Indestructible” by Wage War, although he didn’t think it was fair to have to pick only one favorite song. He is also the life of any party, and is guaranteed to shut it down.

Chad is the groom’s cousin. Some fun facts about him are that his favorite food is steak, and his theme song would be “This One’s For You” by Luke Combs.  He is also a great matchmaker, so if you are in the market for a special someone, Chad can find you your person! (See the Our Story Tab)

Ty is the groom’s cousin. Some fun facts about him are his favorite food is anything Italian, and his favorite song is “Lovin on You” by Luke Combs.  He is known for being a champion corn hole player, just know that he may not perform the best under pressure, especially against the reigning Team Bride champions. 

Aaron is the groom’s childhood best friend. Some fun facts about him are that his favorite food is pizza, and his theme song is “Big Poppa” by The Notorious BIG.  Aaron is always the life of the party, just make sure if you are going to a concert  with him he has both paper and digital copies of his ticket.

Cadence is the bride and groom’s niece.  Some fun facts about her are her favorite food is chicken nuggies and macaroni, and she can sing every word to “Let It Go” from Frozen, and she will gladly perform it if you ask her to.

Rhydian is the bride and groom’s nephew.  Some fun facts about him are his favorite food is macaroni and cheese, and he is also a lover of all things Disney. He especially loves Moana and  Frozen 2, with his favorite song currently being “Into the Unknown”.

Liam is the bride and groom’s nephew.  Some fun facts about him are his favorite food is cheeseburgers, and he loves all music Rock n Roll, but currently, his favorite song is “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I.  He is also one of the best ghost crab and seashell hunters we know!
