Our Wedding

Sean and Courtney set up a meeting, through a mutual work peer, to meet and discuss career opportunities. After an hour meeting they went to their respective work dinners. They both knew this was going to be more than a work meeting. The next day they started talking, and talking, and talking...and a month later had their first date in Dubai! Since that first date, it has been a whirlwind of travel, family, daughters, Vito Corleone (our little rescue rascal), work, buying a home, living in two countries and thank goodness, a whole lot of laughing! They got engaged in November 2023 in Dubai. The Poynters got married in Palm Beach on February 28, 2025 with a small group of family and friends. They look forward to celebrating their UK reception with everyone near and dear to them at Hatfield House! Now we spend 50% of our time in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and 50% of our time in North London (Ware, UK) with sprinkles to Iowa and other favorite spots!

Courtney's sister, Tiffani, is two years older than her and has been by her side and been the most amazing sissy for 48 years! She lives in Iowa with her husband, Nick Conrey, their two children, Creyton (19) and Claudia Conrey (17) and their pup, Jimmy!

Trish has been Courtney's best friend and ride-or-die for 35 years. They met growing up in 
Cedar Rapids, Iowa! Trish is a Dentist in North Liberty, Iowa, where she lives with her Aussie partner, Ivan Medin.

Courtney and Katie (her Coddy) met at the Theta house at the University of Iowa almost 25 years ago. Courtney is honored to be Katie's daughter's fairy Godmother and has enjoyed years of family friendship with Katie, her husband Jim, and their daughters (Courtney's little mozzies) Reese and Sarah. They all reside in Northbrook, Illinois.

Courtney and Lisa met through their mutual and late friend, Stefani, down in Florida. Lisa welcomed Courtney into her Florida circle of friends and was the catalyst for her move to Florida in 2009. They have traveled, laughed, lost and loved together for almost 20 years. Lisa lives in Delray Beach with her partner, Robbie and their two little fluffs, Petunia and Lola.

Courtney and Carrie met at the Theta house at the University of Iowa almost 25 years ago. They are both Iowa natives and they moved Carrie to New York City together from Chicago where Carrie continued with her education and found her love, her husband, Charles. Carrie and Charles still reside in NY with their two sons, Jack and Levi.

Alison was the first friend Courtney met in West Palm Beach when she moved in 2009 from Chicago. They learned they were both midwestern gals with birthdays 3 days apart and it was a lifetime friendship from there on! Alison lives in West Palm Beach with her husband, Dennis Howell.

Courtney and Meghan met at the Theta house at the University of Iowa almost 25 years ago. Meghan is one of the strongest women and when she puts her mind to something, she does it! She has helped Courtney from afar for over two decades and is a cherished friend. Meghan lives in Glenview with her husband Ryan and their two children, Jack and Avery.

Courtney and Marcy met at Slater, their college dormitory, and both joined the Theta house at the University of Iowa almost 25 years ago. Since then they have lived in Chicago together and walked through life's ups and downs. Marcy lives in Des Moines with her husband, Brian and their two daughters, Aubrey and Chaney.

Courtney and Crystalin (her LWs) met at their law firm in Florida in 2011. Courtney had the joy of celebrating Crystalin's wedding in her beautiful home state of Rhode Island and they have since traveled, shopped, been dog moms, worn a lot of pink and grown in their careers alongside one another. Crystalin lives with her husband, Tom, in Florida and Maine, along with their little furball, Coco.

Olivia is Sean's daughter and Courtney's stepdaughter. Her and her sister, Phoebe, have given Courtney more than she ever could have dreamed of in having girls. Olivia is beautiful, intelligent, emotional, loving and feisty (like Courtney was at her age) and she loves her friends, music, Sephora, and all things hair and makeup. Courtney is thankful every day for having this amazing girl be part of her fairytale family.

Phoebe (11) is Sean's daughter and Courtney's stepdaughter. Her and her sister, Olivia, have given Courtney more than she ever could have dreamed of in having girls. Phoebe is beautiful, intelligent, kind, sweet, and loves pink, Taylor Swift and Sephora and she is wise beyond her years. Courtney is thankful every day for having this amazing girl be part of her fairytale family.

Aubrey and Sean have been dear friends for many years, meeting through the insurance industry. Sean introduced Courtney and Aubrey and they have become great friends and enjoy their Philly layover lunch dates. Aubrey is a cherished friend of our family and we are excited to have her be a part of our special UK celebration.

Courtney and Victoria met at the Theta house at the University of Iowa almost 25 years ago. They share a love for reenacting move scenes together, playing mega touch at a local pub, playing marathon scrabble and Euchre tournaments and entertaining the crowd! Victoria lives in Wilmette, Illinois with her husband Kevin and her children, Jacqueline, Maxwell and Lizzie.

Courtney and Keely (punkin) met the first day of law school and they knew instantly that they were going to be best girlies for life. They both traveled to one another's home cities in Iowa and Illinois. Courtney has a wonderful relationship with Keely's parents and family and she had a very special relationship with Keely's late father, Larry. Keely lives in Chicago with her husband Dave and their two children, Stella and Ben.

There are several airports in London but Heathrow has the most options if you are coming from the United States. Heathrow airport will allow you to explore the city of London within 30 minutes via car. Heathrow is approximately an hour away, via car, to Hanbury Manor Hotel and 90 minutes to the reception venue.
