The trip is a scenic, unguided, two-hour kayaking journey down the Lower Salt River. Starting at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, you and your group will kayak down a leisurely five mile stretch of river as it moves it's way through the Tonto National Forest. Participants often witness wild horses, birds and other wildlife that cool off in the river during the summer months.

We have the special privilege of being the only kayak rental company located right on the Salt River, so our trips launch directly from our site which you are returned to via shuttle after your trip. Each reservation includes a kayak rental, paddle, PFD (personal flotation device) and return shuttle to starting site.

Stop At: Saguaro Lake Ranch Kayaking & Tubing, 13020 N Bush Hwy, Mesa, AZ 85215-9724

Launches are scheduled for 7am, 8am, 9am and 10am. Please adjust the schedule below according to your launch time.

30 minutes prior to launch time - Arrive at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, complete waivers, prepare belongings, receive safety orientation. You will have the opportunity to leave keys, phone, etc. at front desk. Water, sunscreen and dry bags are for sale. Activity gear will be distributed. Orientation will include basic paddling, water safety and geography of the river. Orientation is mandatory.

Launch time - Your group launches into Salt River from on-site location. Enjoy your trip!

2 hours after launch time - Trip concludes at Foxtail Administration Site. Shuttle picks up you and your gear for return to Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch.

2 hours and 15 minutes after launch time - Arrive back at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch.

We are located near the famous Rock Springs Cafe.

From Phoenix, take I 17 north and exit at Rock Springs, number exit 242. Turn left, cross over freeway bridge, turn left again, head south on the frontage road and look for Arizona Outdoor Fun billboard ATV rides, turn right 20 yards past the billboard on dirt road driveway that veers to the south. Do not get back on I 17 southbound. Travel on dirt road 1/2 mile. Turn right into Arizona Outdoor Fun property.

Our meeting location is just south of the Famous Rock Springs Cafe. Keep an eye out for our signs.
