Honestly, we don't really care what you wear. Be comfortable and happy! Do be aware that both the ceremony and reception will be outdoors on the grass. So, heels are probably a bad idea, but you do you.
If you're curious to know more, here's the scoop: Cynthia will be wearing a semi-formal dress in one of her favorite colors instead of a traditional white wedding gown. Sean and the rest of our wedding party will be in smart casual/business casual. Basically, we're aiming more for sun dresses and button down shirts, rather than tuxedos and fancy cocktail dresses. Apparently this might be called "beach formal"... based on our cursory Google searches. [shrug.]
Whatever you want! Be comfortable! There’s lots to do outdoors in this location (fire pits, outdoor labyrinth, lawn games, forest walks, etc.), so bring some comfy shoes and outdoor clothes.
Yes! There'll be plenty of parking on-site for everyone.
Wifi is available in the main building, but doesn't reach out into all cabins.
Unfortunately no, Five Oaks doesn't allow pets on-site, although service animals are welcomed.
The weather in southern Ontario in September is variable. Nighttime lows: between 40-60F / 5-17C, Daytime highs: between 55-75F / 12-23C.
It won’t snow. It might rain. We'll have a giant tent for all of our events, but if rain is in the forecast then you might want to bring an umbrella and some rain-friendly shoes.
There could be bugs (but probably not many), so consider bringing bug spray.
If you have any lawn games or board games that you love, bring 'em along!
Yes! Let us know if you’ll be bringing a baby or child and we will find sleeping accommodations. There aren't any special child-care facilities on-site so you'll have to look after your little one(s) yourself (including during the ceremony), but they're heartily welcomed!
There‘s a place to note this on your RSVP. All meals will be provided on site, and we can tell our caterers about any significant dietary restrictions (vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten intolerant, etc.)
