Where will the wedding be taking place?
The wedding festivities will all be held at Borgo Stomennano, a private villa located in Monteriggioni, Italy, approximately an hour from Florence and 20 minutes from Siena by car.
What day should we arrive in Italy?
The choice is yours! If you’re able to, we would recommend arriving in Italy a day or two in advance so you can experience all Florence, Siena, and Tuscany have to offer. The first wedding event will take place on Friday, June 13.
For guests staying at the villa, when should we arrive and depart?
For guests staying at the villa, check in is between 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Check out is on Monday, June 16, 2025 by 10:30 am.
Are there any travel or passport restrictions we should be aware of?
Guests should make sure their passports are valid for at least 3 months (preferably at least 6 months) from the date you plan to leave Italy/the EU. If your passport expires before this 3-month window, you will not be allowed to enter the country.
What airport should we fly into?
We would recommend flying into Florence Airport (FLR), since it is closest to where the wedding festivities will be held (approximately one hour away). However, there are more direct flights from the US to Rome, so if you’re able to add an extra day to your trip, we would recommend flying into Rome. If you’re traveling to the wedding from other areas of Europe, you can also fly into Pisa airport (a 1.5 hour train ride from Siena) or Bologna airport (a 2.5 hour train ride from Siena).
Do you have a hotel block?
We do not. Guests are free to stay wherever they please, although we would recommend staying in Siena city center close to Parcheggio San Prospero. We would recommend booking hotels as soon as possible - many hotels offer free cancellation, so you can reserve a room and cancel if you find a better accommodation or price.
For guests staying at the villa, how should we get there?
Depending where you’re traveling from, you have a few options. Guests are welcome to rent cars and park them at the villa. Guests can also take trains or buses to Siena and then take a taxi from the train/bus station to Borgo Stomennano. This is about a 30 minute drive. Guests can also take a train to Castellina In Chianti-Monteriggioni, which is a small train station located approximately a 5 minute drive from the villa. There are no taxis available at Castellina In Chianti-Monteriggioni, but if you provide us with your train times, we can arrange for someone from the villa to pick you up.
How do we get from Florence to Siena?
There are trains and buses that run between Florence and Siena several times a day and most trips take about 1.5 hours. If you choose to take the train or bus, there are taxis located outside of the Siena train station (Stazione di Siena) and bus station (Piazza Gramsci) that can take you to your accommodation in Siena - taxis should cost approximately €15. The main train station in Florence is called Santa Maria Novella (SMN) and the main bus station is the SITA bus station, which is located across the street from the front of the train station. You can also rent a car or take a car service if you would prefer.
How do we get from Rome to Siena?
If you fly into Rome and would like to spend a day in Florence before going to Siena, there are direct, high speed trains between Rome and Florence which take approximately 1.5 hours and typically cost less than €50. The Le Frecce high-speed train tickets can be purchased online from TrenItalia or in person at the train station. Train tickets between Florence and Siena can be purchased online from TrenItalia. These tickets can also be purchased from TrenItalia.
What if I can’t attend all of the wedding festivities?
We completely understand! We know it might be hard to take time away from work, family, and other obligations for three days of wedding activities. We are so grateful to everyone who is willing and able to travel to Italy for our wedding, and will cherish all of the time we’re able to spend with our guests. When RSVPing, we would ask that our guests indicate which of the three days of events they plan on attending so we can coordinate all of the logistics with our vendors.
Are kids invited?
While we love the kiddos, our wedding will be a kid-free event. The wedding villa is filled with antiques and the owners have advised us that it is not suitable for children under 14 years old. Per the villa’s rules, children under 14 are not permitted in the main villa and are not permitted in the pool.
Will transportation be provided for the wedding events?
Yes, for guests staying in Siena, buses will be available to pick up guests and drive them to and from Borgo Stomennano for the Welcome Dinner and Wedding Day. The pick up and drop off point is a parking area outside of Siena city center called Parcheggio San Prospero. Transportation will not be provided for the Pool Party, but guests can take taxis from Siena or drive themselves (if renting a car). If you have any questions about transportation options, please let us know.
