Our Wedding

The beginning of our story changes depending on which one of us you ask, but one consistent theme is that once we met, we knew [another] wedding wasn't far off. We met in Delaware at the wedding of Danasia's Aunt and Dwayne's close friend/frat brother on December 10, 2022. We were both in the wedding party but hadn't had the opportunity to meet until the day of the wedding. It took until the final minutes of the wedding reception for us to actually speak to each other but when we did, we both knew it was something special. The next day, through a series of what could only be described as cosmically aligned events, Danasia needed a way back home to her place in Brooklyn and Dwayne offered to drive the 3 hour trip back. We spent the whole time talking, and before we knew it, we were back in the city but we didn't want the night to end so we went out to eat and eventually got back in the car to chat for 5 more hours. Eventually, Dwayne needed to head home but not before we solidified our plans to see each other the next weekend and pretty much every weekend after that.

How It All Began

On the day that we closed on our first house, Dwayne had a few cards up his sleeve. Unbeknownst to me, Dwayne had organized a romantic proposal in front of some of my closest friends and family, both physically and virtually. It was the easiest answer to a question I've ever had to give.
