NOTE: Reservations for Glacier Park Going to the Sun Road opens beginning February 13, 2025 at 8am MST for Friday, June 13th. It is a daily, rolling window. Please review the information on this link for details on access, how to make reservations, etc. To actually make a reservation - use this link.
Please be aware that in addition to selecting a day - you will need to select a time slot for entry (this is new this year). If you miss your time slot will not be admitted until after 3pm.
Reservations are in high demand and historically have been sold out within minutes.
If you don't get an advanced reservation - they sell addition ones the day before entry and you can enter the park before 7am or after 3pm without a reservation.

Glacier National Park is the most well-know highlight in our area - with good reason. It is stunning but there is much to know about taking advantage of this gem.
1. It is unlikely that the full Going to the Sun Road will be open. It depends on the weather but is usually not fully open until late June/early July. However there is still much to see and do.
2. During the hours of 7am - 3pm - you will need entrance tickets to access parts of the park. Some tickets will be available for purchase beginning February 12th at 8am with the remaining available the day before entrance. Before 7am and after 3pm - no ticket is required. See the note at the top of the page for more information.
3. The following link provides more information about how to access Glacier National Park. I recommend following this page for updated information.

Prior the main road opening in the park, one of our most favorite things is to bike the road - especially using e-bikes. You are not competing with vehicles and the views are stunning.
Several companies locally rent e-bikes - listed below are a few well-known local vendors. Some offer shuttles to the start of the ride, others rent bike racks in addition to the bikes.
We guarantee - this is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Hiking
While the most popular hikes may not be available this early in the season - there are some well worth your time and effort.
Perhaps the most popular and easily accessible is Avalanche Lake. It is a moderate difficulty - 4 miles round trip and limited elevation gain.
Our favorite map for information on hiking in Glacier National Park is 'Day Hikes of Glacier National Park Map Guide - by Jake Bramante. It is widely available - including from Amazon.
Red Bus Tours are a popular guided tour of Glacier. If the full Going to the Sun Road is not open - the tours will still run but on more limited routes.
Boat Tours and kayak/paddle boards/motor boat rentals are available on both the east and west sides of the park.

This is the local ski resort that offers a full suite of summer activities - mountain biking, chair/gondola rides, zip lines, hiking, alpine slides and an aerial park.
