Getting To Granada

There's a few different ways to get to Granada when flying from the US.

You may wish to consider keeping a flight tracker such as Google Flights to ensure minimal cost for flights! Also, Daniel's a pro at finding award flights with miles for great prices so if you have any questions, reach out.

The best flights tend to be with either Iberia, British Airways (connecting in London), or direct flights with American Airlines or United Airlines.

Flying in to Madrid / Taking RENFE train to Granada

Our recommended route as it will likely be cheaper and more convenient for direct flights from the US. You would fly into Madrid, and then be able to take the RENFE high speed train to Granada. This also gives you the chance to hang out in Madrid for a night or two, which is one of Daniel's favorite cities ever. Recommendations will be added under Things To Do.

Tickets for the train average 30 euros and is a 3 and a half hour trip. We recommend buying them at least a month in advance to make sure you get the best price.

You can book your tickets here.

Fly to Granada Airport with connection in Madrid

If you're looking for the easiest way to get to Granada, you can connect in Madrid using Iberia and land directly in Granada. It's a super small regional airport, but a lovely one too. Ubers are expensive in Granada due to low availibility of drivers, and taxi's can be hard to find, so we recommend taking the local bus into town for 3 euros which drops you off in the center of the city (most accommodations will be located here and you will not need an Uber to get around)

Flying to Malaga or Sevilla / Taking train or bus to Granda

If you are interested in exploring more of Andalusia/Southern Spain and want to get right into it, there are select direct flights from the US to Malaga or Sevilla which are two other absolutely stunning cities with rich culture and many things to do. There are a variety of direct bus routes to Granada from both, or a few connecting lines to get there by train.

Accomodations

Due to the fact that getting hotel blocks are not really a thing in Granada, we will be reaching out to everyone to individually help with booking their accommodations. We have rented a large apartment building with 5 separate apartments and will help coordinate with everyone to see what works. Otherwise, we will help find other folks Airbnb's as well. All of these accommodations will be centrally located and walkable!

For family, we will be looking at reserving a larger space for everyone to stay at as well.

Good thing is that accommodations in Granada, especially during this time of year, are VERY reasonable for the quality and charm that you get.
