Our journey began in the fall of 2019, in the heart of Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill. We met when both of us were eager to make a difference, and from the moment we connected, it was clear that something special was beginning. We officially started dating in January 2020, just as the world was about to change in ways we could never have imagined.

Even though we grew up in different corners of the nation in Old Bridge, New Jersey and Indio, California, we quickly realized we had both found a home in D.C. where we worked to serve and represent our communities. What brought us together was more than our shared values of service and connection—it was our deep respect for one another’s passions and backgrounds.

The start of our relationship coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and while the world seemed to slow down, our bond only grew stronger. We spent long days at home, finding comfort in each other’s presence and learning how to navigate the quiet moments and uncertainty of the world around us. It wasn’t always easy, but we found strength in our love, our ability to support and uplift one another, and the laughter that always seemed to find its way into our lives.

We are so proud to bring our two cultures, two communities, and two families into our union. Our backgrounds are a beautiful tapestry of tradition, faith, and history, and we are excited to blend them into something new and meaningful. From the warmth and celebration of Silvia’s Mexican heritage to the rich traditions of Dan’s Jewish upbringing, we are creating a life that honors both sides of who we are and our love.

After five beautiful years together, we are overjoyed to be taking the next step in our journey—committing to each other for a lifetime. We can’t wait to celebrate our love, our cultures, and our future with all of you and to begin this new chapter as partners in life and in love.
