Q + A

What time should I arrive?

.............................................................................................................................

Please plan to arrive by 4 PM as the ceremony will begin at 4:15 PM. The venue is inside a gated community, so please tell the guard your name and they will let you in. At the venue, drive to the front of the roundabout and valet will help park your car for you. There is no overnight parking, so we encourage guests to consider driving in a group or arranging for an Uber/Lyft.

If you are planning to attend the family pre-ceremony events, please try to carpool with other guests as the location has limited parking space. Thank you!

What is the dress code for the wedding?

.............................................................................................................................

The dress code is Formal/Black-Tie Optional. We kindly ask that you wear a tuxedo/suit & tie or an evening gown/cocktail dress. Floral/pastel/vibrant colors are encouraged as the ceremony & cocktail hour will be outdoors. Our wedding party will be wearing olive green.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

.............................................................................................................................

All parts of the wedding will take place at the same venue. The ceremony will be outdoors, the cocktail hour will be indoors & outdoors, and the reception will be indoors.

What Vietnamese traditions will be a part of the wedding?

.............................................................................................................................

LỄ RƯỚC DÂU: This is the Vietnamese "bride procession ceremony" and is a traditional part of Vietnamese weddings. This ceremony symbolizes the groom’s family officially welcoming the bride into their family. The groom’s family arrives at the home with decorated trays of gifts, representing good fortune and respect. These offerings typically include tea, fruits, and other symbolic items. During the ceremony, both families exchange greetings and offer blessings. The bride then departs with the groom, marking the start of their married life together.

CHÀO BÀN: At the reception during dinner, the bride and groom go around to greet each table and thank them for coming. At this time, it is customary to present the bride and groom with monetary gifts in a red envelope or card (lì xì) in place of a traditional wedding gift. This tradition symbolizes good fortune and happiness for the marriage. Typically one person at each table will also stand and wish the couple well and offer words of wisdom. They can also have the couple play short games with guests at the table. This tradition of visiting tables allows the couple to express gratitude, share a toast, and take photos with guests.

ÁO DÀI:

During the Chào Bàn time at dinner, the bride and groom will wear a traditional Vietnamese long dress known as "áo dài", which is often worn during weddings and special occasions. This outfit features a long elegant tunic with side slits that is worn over flowing pants. It is known for its graceful silhouette that symbolizes beauty, modesty, and cultural pride.
