FAQs

Feel free to email us (danielleandsiva@gmail.com) with any questions!

When do I need to RSVP by?

Please RSVP as soon as possible, especially if you know you can't make it, and no later than March 1.

What should I wear to the Indian wedding?

We would encourage you to wear traditional Indian wedding clothing! Common options for women include a sari (more typical for a South Indian/Tamil wedding but more complicated to wear) or a lehenga (a skirt & blouse combo). For men, consider a sherwani or a kurta. If you want to get extra traditional, Tamil men typically wear a wrapped cloth called a veshti (or dhoti) around the waist with a silk shirt or kurta on top. But please prioritize comfort (and danceability)! In a pinch, you can always go with Western cocktail attire. Either way, aim for bright, festive colors and avoid red, black, and white. Otherwise, the rainbow is yours. Indian clothing stores are widely available in most major cities. You can also look into renting from shops like Saris and Things, based in Chicago, which ships nationwide. If you are looking for something even more budget-friendly, there are a lot of great options on Etsy and Amazon. Wedding events will be outside on gravel, grass, and concrete, and indoors on older wood floors -- if you choose to wear heels we hope this information is helpful in your selection!

What should I wear to the Western wedding?

We're planning a bright, colorful, and lighthearted celebration, and we would encourage you to dress the same way! Think summer cocktail party with an emphasis on comfort and personality. We'll be outside all evening until the dancing starts after sundown. Wedding events will be outside on gravel, grass, and concrete, and indoors on older wood floors -- if you choose to wear heels we hope this information is helpful in your selection!

What is the weather usually like?

Calistoga in June usually has highs in the mid-80s Fahrenheit, peaking around 4pm, and Triple S is usually a few degrees cooler than downtown Calistoga. It stays comfortably warm into the late evening, so you should need at the very most a light jacket.

What should I expect in terms of food?

This question is near and dear to our hearts! On Friday, we'll be having dinner from Anjappar Chettinad, a restaurant franchise that first started in Chennai, India (where Siva's family is from). Expect bright flavors and a range of heat levels, served family-style so that you can pick and choose according to your taste and spice tolerance. Saturday's pool party will feature a lunch buffet with fresh and light foods (salads, sandwiches, etc.). Saturday dinner will showcase the kind of organic, farm-to-table cuisine that Northern California is known for, also served family-style. All meals will include options friendly to a variety of dietary restrictions; if you have a particular one, please let us know when you RSVP.

Are kids invited?

Yes, we love your whole family! But do please let us know so we can make sure to accommodate.

Is there parking at Triple S Ranch?

There are two spacious lots, one by the Vintner's Barn and another behind the two Victorians (near the pool). Please park in the lots rather than driving further onto the property.
