We are very lucky to have persistent mutual friends who knew we'd make a perfect match - had it not been for them, we likely wouldn't be here today.
This love story was initially a slow burn, with many fleeting "almost" moments in the beginning - from the infamous red dress picture and first introductions at a friends' Christmas party in 2019, to birthday muff dives (relax Mom, it's a shooter with whipped cream) and Grandpa Beck game nights with friends. COVID unfortunately put a pause on the potential romance, but as restrictions lifted and Bryden returned to Halifax in September 2020, we came together effortlessly and seamlessly (notwithstanding some lingering debate about the true first date). Thankfully, the fear of potentially f***ing up the friend group was thrown to the wind, and we fell for each other very quickly.
It was clear from that moment on this was something special and unlike anything either one of us had experienced before, and we dove in head first.
Since then, we have packed up our lives and moved to Iqaluit, Nunavut, to pursue a long standing dream of Bryden's. Our lives quickly changed from Saturday morning farmers markets, beer gardens with friends and date nights at local restaurants to skidooing in the Tundra, gazing at the Northern Lights and chasing the midnight sun. It has proven to be an adventure of a lifetime - and one we wouldn't want to do with anyone else.
Travelling and enjoying the outdoors have both played a large role in our relationship, so it was only fitting that Bryden popped the question on the top of a mountain in Norway on June 14, 2024. It was a very easy yes!
