The Last First Date
It all started on August 26, 2023, with a swipe on Facebook Dating. For Dani, this was meant to be her last first date ever—a promise she was holding onto as she got ready. Little did she know, it would indeed be her last first date, but for a beautiful and permanent new reason!
Chris showed up like a true gentleman, pulling up in his classic red convertible and arriving with a sweet offering of chocolate. He took Dani out for a classic Nebraska supper at Texas T-bone. The date was a success, but the real test came back at the house when Dani’s dog, Lucy, met Chris. And just like that, Lucy fell in love at first sight.

The Side Chick Cometh
The competition for affections escalated quickly. On the second date, Chris came prepared—he brought a treat specifically for Lucy. While Dani had adopted Lucy two years prior, from that moment on, the dog only had eyes for Chris.
In fact, Lucy has settled comfortably into her role as “the side chick,” demanding Chris's full attention at all hours of the day. Dani has graciously accepted that she will forever be sharing her man with their demanding, furry companion.

Exploring Nebraska, Building a Life
Things moved fast when you know they're right. By January 2024, Chris and Dani officially moved in together, merging their lives and settling into a routine centered around food, farming, and fun.
They love exploring every corner of Nebraska together, whether they’re out early for Morel hunting, spending crisp autumn days at pumpkin patches, or enjoying summer sunshine berry picking. Their shared passion for agriculture makes the Young Farmers Conference their favorite event to attend every year.

A Christmas Proposal
After a wonderful year of adventures, Chris was ready for the next big step. On December 22, 2024, they traveled to Omaha to see the breathtaking Manheim Steamroller Christmas special.
After the show, under a beautiful, twinkling Christmas archway, Chris got down on one knee and popped the question. Dani, of course, said yes! It was the perfect festive ending to their first year and the start of a lifetime together. Now, they can’t wait to celebrate their next chapter with all of you.
