Things to Do

Food

White Duck Taco-

A very popular lunch/dinner spot local to Asheville. One of Danielle's most favorite places, and you will find tacos of all different kinds!

Biscuit Head-

A local gem when it comes to breakfast foods. Go here if you love biscuits!!

Itto Ramen-

Mike's favorite soup in town, make sure to get extra eggs with your ramen.

Shanghai Dumpling House-

This doesnt need much of a description. Great dumplings and good vibes.

Sunny Point Cafe-

SUPER popular brunch spot in all of asheville. Make sure to get there when they open or you will be inevitably be walking over to biscuit head after hearing how long the wait is (which often is the case when Mike and Danielle try to go there ha).

Tupelo Honey-

One of our first dinner spots when we first visited Asheville. Reservations highly recommended!

Drink

Wicked Weed/The Funkatorium-

One of Asheville's most popular breweries, and if you are a fan of sours, make sure to go specifically to the Funkatorium!

Antidote-

Super old-timey vibes, and really neat handcrafted cocktails. Multi level, and a sweet rooftop. Must visit!

Burial-

Great selection of beer, and Danielle's favorite are the wine/mead slushie variety they always have! :-)

Banks Ave Bar-

LGBTQ+ friendly, and great drinks at a local bar in downtown Asheville. Danielle's go-to spot for thursday night line dancing

Burntshirt Winery (Hendersonville)-

Nice indoor and outdoor seating, with tastings. A little bit outside of Asheville, but worth the drive.

Ben's Tune up-

A bar that has a large variety of different flavored sake's on tap (so cool!). They also have ping pong, which Mike loved :-)

Things!

Hiking/places to stop by:

Craggy Gardens & Craggy Pinnacle Trails:

(30 min drive from AVL). These are both relatively short easy-moderate hiking trails. Go to the Pinnacle trail if you want a 360 view!

Graveyard Fields (Second Falls):

Short ~1 mile roundtrip hike, with a beautiful waterfall you can swim in. One of Danielle's favorites and a special hike she always took people to visit.

Devils Courthouse:

Close to 1 mile roundtrip hike, this is strenuous but worth the great view at the top!

Looking Glass Falls:

The first waterfall that Mike and Danielle visited, and it is top of our list. You can view the falls from the side of the road, and walk down the steps for a closer view and a swim!

Pisgah Inn:

Easily accessible, ample parking, and easy to walk behind the restaurant and enjoy a spectacular view!

Folk Art Center:

Located off the Blue Ridge Parkway, a center that is filled with local crafts made by local artisans. You'll find things like quilts, brooms, glassware, and so much more.

The Biltmore:

One of Asheville's most visited places. It is very boujee as Danielle would say, but can be a bit pricy.

Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center:

Danielle's former workplace, and a great indoor center to learn about the history, geology, and things that make up the "Parkway".
