In the spring of twenty-seventeen, fate drew near,
Joseph and Danielle, their story sincere.
A ticket exchanged, a fraternity affair,
Little did they know, a destiny to share.
A chance meeting, a photo they'd take,
A moment frozen, a memory to make.
Neither aware of what the future might hold,
Little did they know, a love story unfold.
May thirty-first, in twenty-eighteen,
Joseph, a question, his heart so keen.
Be my girlfriend? he asked with care,
Danielle paused, a moment rare.
Two weeks would pass, a thoughtful dance,
Danielle, in turn, took her chance.
A summer apart, the distance unfurls,
Yet, it built a foundation of precious pearls.
Outer Banks and Cary, miles apart,
Yet, united by love, they held each other's heart.
Challenges faced, the trials they met,
Stronger they emerged, no love to forget.
Abroad they ventured, a journey of two,
College degrees earned, a path they'd pursue.
Jobs and changes, a home to renew,
Six years of memories, a love that grew.
And then, the moment, a question so grand,
Joseph and helpers, a plan so well planned.
A Cary Chamber event, a ruse in disguise,
At Mayton Inn, where love never lies.
A room adorned with memories and light,
Flowers and candles, emotions taking flight.
Joseph, on one knee, a question so bold,
Will you marry me? the story unfolds.
