Wedding Party

Austin Souders
Austin Souders - Best Man
I still remember the first time we met. All I can say is I'm thankful for Southwestern, and for our adventures together. The day we met, we were on a snorkeling adventure in Mexico, and two kids in our group totaled their rental motor boats. Man, good times. We waited in the office of the boat rental company after the incident. You thought I was a local drug dealer because I had a really dirty trash 'stache. After talking in that lobby for a while, we quickly became best friends. Hopefully this sums up enough for now. The rest is for the speech.

I met Danielle shortly after she moved to Brenham in 7th grade. We bonded over our shared love of Evanescence, books, and piano. We've lived as far away as half the country and as close as the same city and have stayed best friends through all of it. I'm so excited to celebrate with Danielle and Tim on their big day! Texas Forever.
Noah Brown
Noah Brown - Man of Honor
Danielle surely didn’t think Noah would be in her wedding party when they first met at Rhodes College, but it was their shared alma matter that connected them in Chicago where their friendship really began. Knowing that Rhodes people tend to be pretty great, Noah reached out looking for a couch to crash on while he apartment shopped in a new city. Little did either of them know that would be the beginning of a truly wonderful friendship, filled with wine, talk of careers in medicine, and lots and lots of Taylor Swift. They weathered several Chicago winters before careers took them back to their home states to pursue their medical careers but have maintained their close friendship over the phone, leaning on each other for life advice and sometimes even directions when google just won’t cut it! Noah is so excited to be a part of Tim and Danielle’s special day and can’t wait to celebrate such an amazing couple!

We met in Gainesville, FL while at the University of Florida. I overheard you needed a place to live senior year and I was looking for someone to fill a room at my apartment. I forced you to hang with all my friends and the partying began. What a time we had tearing up Gainesville... who knew another engineer could be fun!

Tim and I first met at our friend Mike's house back in late 2014. We talked for a few minutes... and that was about it. A couple of weeks later, we ran into each other at Stereo Live during a Dada Life concert. We recognized each other, but couldn’t remember each other’s names... that didn't stop us from hanging out for the rest of the night and becoming friends through the power of music. Tim and I have become best friends ever since, and go see Dada Life every time they are in Houston!

Danielle and I first met in Memphis, TN. I can’t remember the exact moment we crossed paths, but our shared love for Rhodes College enabled us to grow closer as we both held leadership positions in almost all of the same organizations. When I think about our time at Rhodes, I don’t believe either of us expected our friendship with one another would become as strong as it has over the last few years. After we graduated from Rhodes, Danielle and I found ourselves living in the same city once again. As a native Houstonian, I was so excited to explore my home with a familiar face. We quickly bonded over our shared love for trying new restaurants, happy hours, women in politics, Taylor Swift, and, of course, wine. Though we currently live in different cities, we’ve only grown closer as we’ve shared hours of conversations on the phone, trips to visit each other, birthdays, a Taylor Swift concert, and New Year’s celebrations. Little did we know that our most recent New Year’s together would be one we’d never forget. This year I was so grateful to ring in 2019 celebrating my best friend’s engagement! Danielle, we’ve been there for each other for so many major life changes, and I cannot wait to stand by your side as you take on this next chapter with Tim.

I don’t remember the exact day I met Dani but I am sure it was in the middle of doing something super glamorous, probably something involving bodily fluids. A few years ago Dani was an ER nurse at another hospital, the same hospital where I worked as an ICU nurse. I remember she was always so friendly and always had the biggest smile on her face. I don’t think I ever remember seeing her in a bad mood no matter how bad the situation, a disposition that she still holds today. I remember I used to get so excited on the nights that we worked together and I got to receive a patient from her- even the crazy ones or the ones that she swore “had a pulse when we left,” yet somehow lost it in the elevator (I’m just teasing…that was that other ER nurse). Over the years that we worked together we became closer. If she was delivering a patient to the ICU she’d always stop by my room and say hello, and if I was downstairs picking up a patient from the ER I would check if she was working so I could go say hi. Sometimes if it was a slow night, she’d even deliver other nurses’ patients upstairs just so she could come hang out for a while. Some of our best conversations were through isolation gowns and face masks across the stretcher from each other. Eventually we decided to have conversations outside of work. Usually they came in the form of breakfast tacos and margaritas after a rough night shift, and then Astros games, birthdays, and holidays. I even remember the day that she told me about a new boy she had met that she really liked. We were standing outside the parking garage one morning after busy night shifts and she showed me his picture. They were planning a second date soon and she was excited about it. I think his name was Tim. Time went on and the friendship grew, and then the day came that we both decided it was time to leave our old hospital behind. She went on to work in an ICU at a big hospital in the medical center, as did I. I will never forget those times we had on night shift and the job that brought us together. I will be forever grateful to that place for giving me such a wonderful friendship, and such a funny, smart friend with a heart of gold. Although times and jobs may have changed, my friendship with Dani hasn’t. She may not bring me ER patients anymore but we still keep in touch and see each other often, and we still bond over isolation gowns and face masks- in the ICU we now work together. Love you always, friend. Kirsten

I’m not usually one to pay for friends, but paying Tim rent once a month definitely didn’t hurt. Tim was the first friend I had in corporate America, and was a refreshing break from constant talks of the energy industry with conversations of John Mayer, MTV, and alternate realities, to name only a few of the topics that became brainchildren for our future career in podcasts. Whether it was going to stand-up shows, Mardis Gras, or music festivals, Tim became the go-to for a good time in Houston. Despite his passion for the worst team in the NFC East, we’ve overcome our differences and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of Tim & Dani’s big day!

I met Dani in January 2017 when she and Tim came to visit me in Orlando. We quickly bonded over our nursing stories, and how fun it is to gross Tim out with them. Later, we went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and I was so excited Tim was dating someone who was just as obsessed with it as me. It was clear how in love they were and how effortlessly they got along, and I’m so happy they’ve found each other. She has become such a dear friend to me, and I am thrilled to have her as a sister!

Tim and I met at ExxonMobil in Houston. I initially met the geeky, corporate side of Tim – an incredible team member at the company that loves numbers, analysis, spreadsheets, and powerpoint. In the last several years we’ve worked together a couple of big projects, including a lot of late nights that can make us delirious – like this photo. I blame the left overs we scavenge from conference rooms. Since we became friends, I’ve learned more about Tim outside work. He is musically gifted, generous, easy going and a complete lightweight! I’m looking forward to being there when Tim adds to the list – married!
