Where will the ceremony be held?
The ceremony will be a Catholic Mass held at St. Camillus Church in Rockaway Park, in Queens, NY.
The church is part of The Parish Family of St. Camillus - St. Virgilius Roman Catholic Church Broad Channel & Rockaway Park where the Bride was raised.
The ceremony will be officiated by the Parish Pastor - Msgr. Richard J. Ahlemeyer
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, there is a gap of time provided for travel and preparation. Guests will have time to spend a few hours on their own before the reception.
The bridal party will be traveling and taking pictures nearby, after the ceremony.
If guests are staying at the reserved hotels, they can head to the hotels to freshen up and check in. Their transportation will be provided from the Hotels to the Reception venue. The reception will start at 7 pm.
We do not recommend heading to the venue prior to the start time.
When is the RSVP deadline?
March 5, 2022, post formal mailed invitation.
What should I do if I can’t make it?
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
Where should guests park at the ceremony?
There is free parking in a lot behind the church.
Where should guests park at the reception?
There will be valet service provided by our venue.
Are kids welcome?
While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us. We will only have an exception to the children in our Bridal Party.
Can I bring a date?
We love making new friends, but unfortunately, our day is going to be a VIP strict guest list! Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
Is there a dress code? Are there any colors I should avoid wearing?
We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up with us! We are requesting a semi-formal dress code for our reception. If its helpful to know the Bridesmaids will be wearing Rust and Gold. We hope you look fabulous, but we would appreciate if you please do not wear colors typically reserved for the bride (white, ivory, or cream).
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
Yes, we encourage guests to take lots of pictures! If you wish to post on to your social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #foreverdatewithgates so we can keep track of all of our pictures!
What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?
We encourage you to get tested prior to the wedding for your safety and the safety of others. This is currently a recommendation. We will keep current on our website of protocols with state guidelines . We will update and communicate to guests the guidelines according to our venue as the timeline progresses.
Should I come hungry and ready to get tipsy?
YES! Full cocktail hour, full dinner, desserts, cake and midnight munchies. Plus, c'mon, you know us- OPEN BAR!
Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?
We can accommodate special diets. In order to accommodate, we request that you can kindly contact us and make us aware of your dietary needs ahead of time.
May I take a centerpiece of flowers home as a souvenir?
