Danielle and Travis can’t exactly pinpoint the first time we met. It was somewhere around the summer when everything came to life, people were always outdoors, everyone was just talking to each other, the summer. 2016 with the launch of Pokémon Go. They have both reflected back on events during those early days and realized that they had spent nights down by the lighthouse “fishing” for magikarp and were both outside of Rockafellas when Flying Saucer Pizza blasted the Pokemon theme song as the bar let out.
They met again as raiding and friendship were added into the game and Danielle although she was a Valor was welcomed into the Knights of the Round Table, a primarily Mystic raiding group. Fast forward to one fateful evening of raiding when Danielle and Travis were caught in a thunderstorm with their friend Kayla. Danielle messaged Travis when she got home safe and not a single day has gone by that they haven’t spoken to one another since, that was June 18, 2018.
Starting off as friends Danielle and Travis spent many of their nights wandering the streets of Salem, taking over gyms, catching Pokémon, and spending late nights at Salem Beer Works (RIP). Eventually their friendship evolved into a relationship on January 1, 2019.
Fast forward through Disney trips, meeting the family, weddings, funerals, new nieces and nephews, vacations, Pokémon go fest in New York City, a global pandemic, cruises and many other life changing events and their relationship is stronger than ever.
On New Year’s Eve 2023 Danielle booked an event at the DoubleTree hotel in Danvers. The event had a comedy show, dinner, and live music. Little did she know that Travis has planned something as well. About 20 minutes into the new year, Travis got down on one knee in front of over a hundred people and proposed to Danielle with a ring hidden inside of a red rose. Every single second since has been magical.
Danielle and Travis can’t wait to share their special day surrounded by friends and family. “I choose you as my happily ever after.”
