The wedding venue is located on Bear Run Nature Reserve. The Reserve offers hiking trails, backcountry campsites and opportunities for hunting and fishing. Bear Run Nature Reserve provides the setting for Fallingwater, designed for the Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh by architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The Reserve is 5,100 acres and many of the trails are rugged and purposely managed to have minimal impact on the surrounding landscape. Be prepared by reviewing Reserve information at the trailhead. There is no cell phone service in the Reserve, so take photos of maps and save to your cell phone ahead of time if you plan on wandering far. Wear sturdy boots or shoes and bring plenty of water.
Fallingwater is inscribed as one of 24 UNESCO World Heritage sites in the U.S. and is listed along attractions including the Pyramids of Egypt, the Great Wall of China and the Taj Mahal. If you want to do a tour, we would recommend booking one immediately because they book up for the fall season very quickly. This is located 1 mile from the wedding venue (approx. 3 minute drive.)
