In spring 2022, Danielle traveled to Nepal with friends to complete the Everest Base Camp trek. There, at the world’s highest Buddhist monastery, she meditated on attracting someone who was smart, outdoorsy, and came from a fun big family. She envisioned living a mountain life, preferably in Colorado.

Eric had spent years rock climbing in Colorado and Vegas before returning to the DC area, where he embraced nature and enjoyed sunrise kayaking on the Potomac.

Danielle, also a former Colorado and Chile resident, was living in DC and part of a hiking group. After Danielle returned from Nepal, they matched on Hinge a week later, bonding over their love for the West, The Shins, and mountain adventures. His profile said "Life's a garden, dig it" and hers said "the grass is green where you water it." Instantly connecting over their garden references, they scheduled their first date immediately on Cinco de Mayo, and it was filled with sparks from the first moment they met.

Five months later, after many paddleboarding and kayaking dates at the nation's capital, Eric received a job offer in Breckenridge, and they moved to Colorado to build their life and "garden" together at a cabin in the woods at 10,000 ft.

They spent years exploring the Rockies, camping, rafting, skiing, and more, before welcoming their adventure dog, Earl, last summer. In October, they bought their first home in Silverthorne.

Eric proposed to Danielle on January 16, 2025- a perfect bluebird sunny day at the top of Loveland Pass on a trail called Cupids Peak, and she said "Of Course!!"

They eloped privately in Moab, Utah- one of their favorite places in the world on March 8, 2025. Now they can't wait to celebrate with you in the place they've chosen to build their life and growing family together.
