As two 18 year olds, Tommy and Danielle both moved to New York City to attend NYU, but their love story wasn’t fated to start right away.

Tommy and Danielle’s paths crossed a few times freshman year, both of them met some of the other’s friends at various points and Tommy was even at Danielle’s birthday party, but they never met.

It wasn’t until sophomore year, when they both moved to Florence, Italy for a semester studying abroad where their story began. Danielle has always loved Italy and really wanted to study abroad in Florence, but she almost didn’t because most of her friends were planning to study abroad in Madrid instead. Tommy had applied to study abroad with Sydney, Australia as his first choice - thankfully that didn’t end up happening! With some luck on their side and help from the NYU housing lottery, they left New York City, took a flight across the Atlantic and ended up in the same apartment building in Florence.

From there, it didn’t take long for them to finally meet. They stumbled into each other the first day as Tommy and his roommates were coming back to the apartment just as Danielle and her roommates were heading out. Tommy and Danielle immediately took an interest in each other, at the same time as a strong friendship grew between them. They bonded attending Fiorentina soccer games, running through Florence together, eating delicious pasta and flirting in the back of the class they shared.

Tommy and Danielle officially started dating back in NYC the following semester. They shared highs and lows, met each other’s families, grew up together, supported each other and graduated together in 2018 before moving in together in Hoboken in 2019.

Tommy and Danielle share many things that make them a great couple, including their loyalty to each other, the importance of family to both of them, their love of sour beer and their love of dogs - especially JoJo, who they rescued in 2021.

On June 4th, 2023, Tommy asked Danielle to marry him at Plan Bee Farm Brewery in Poughkeepsie, NY. Danielle was totally surprised, as Tommy had only told his mom of his plans. Soon after, Danielle found Sunflower Hill Farm and the wedding was booked!
