Our Story

What started as two coworkers learning side by side grew into a long-lasting relationship. Over the years, Danielle and Matthew's story has had many memories: working together, navigating long distance, and celebrating milestones. Each season of life has brought them closer, and this timeline reflects the memories and experiences that have shaped their relationship and led them to where they are today.

It all started at Parkview’s pathology lab. Matthew and Danielle were both new that summer, starting the same week and learning everything side by side. The best part of the job was working together and getting to know each other more every day.

One of the best memories from their time together was when Matthew brought Danielle duck eggs. He had heard that Chinese people liked to preserve them and thought it might be a thoughtful gesture. It was a sweet and smooth move.

Matthew’s first trip to Birmingham was unforgettable. They had so much fun exploring the city together, but the best part was being in each other’s company. It was during that trip that they made the relationship official.

During their time doing long distance, Danielle often made trips back to Indiana. Fall quickly became their favorite season, especially Indiana's fall season. It was one of the many reasons they chose to get married in the fall.

Their first big family trip together was a cruise around the Bahamas. What made it even more meaningful was that Danielle got to meet Matthew’s grandparents and extended family for the first time.

A milestone moment for them was Matthew’s white coat ceremony at South University’s Anesthesiologist Assistant Program in Savannah, GA. Having both of their families there to celebrate made it even more special. Living in Savannah marked their first time truly not being long-distance.

They traveled to Poland and had the chance to meet extended family on Matthew’s mom’s side. Growing up surrounded by different cultures brought Matthew and Danielle closer, especially knowing that both of their sets of grandparents live outside the United States.

The proposal day began under a gloomy sky but ended with a beautiful golden hour sunset over a reservoir in Columbus, Mississippi. They were surrounded by Danielle’s family, who had come into town for an intimate celebration that weekend. It was perfect.
