Gunnar & I's story starts long ago. It was 2007, where chunky highlights & T Swift's "Our Song" was the top of country music charts. I attended/ competed in my first 4-H year, as a cloverbud at the local Carbon County fair; where I met this "super cute older boy named Gunnar," and his wonderful family to boot. From there, a friendship was forged in the long summers hours alongside Gunnar's sister, "Jojo" in the horse showing world and thrown into the fires of the fiercely competitive world of Steer Showmanship that was more inside Gunnar's realm. For many years, our friendship remained just that.. a friendship... even after, I attempted to email Gunnar an invite to be my date to the jr. high dance at the Roberts School. (Thank goodness, this email was fortunately sent to the wrong address...lol...) We soon found our worlds overlapping in Sports, Rodeo, and agricultural segways like 4-H & FFA. In fact, I specifically remember sitting at a flag practice for the HOC Rodeo alongside my little teenage girlfriends, as we sat giggling and admiring the "cute guy," that was the president of the HOC Rodeo's little nephew who was helping him with tasks. At that point, one of my girlfriends even had the *AUDACITY* to call dibs on him... needless to say, I may have taken that as healthy competition... lol... Moreover, our lives always seemed to cross paths and we became more intertwined as time passed; where I even happened to get Gunnar in trouble for talking & not paying attention at a livestock judging competition... I truly blame my very discrete laugh for that one... That's the most beautiful aspect of Gunnar & I's story, as we always had fun together and found ourselves immersed in laughter with a spontaneous nature of building memories when we were together. Pretty soon, our connection became undeniable at a livestock 4-H Clinic, where Gunnar & I ran a fitting/feed for Steers aspect of the clinic. At this time, I began to do a healthy amount of competitive back talk to Gunnar until he had no choice but to ask for my number and set up a date to hang out again. Our next date, was one for the story books. I had just gotten off work and Gunnar invited me last minute to go fishing and watch the sunset. I was ecstatic but unfortunately, I got lost, showed up late, missed the sunset and hooked Gunnar's pants twice with the fishing hook at my failed casts with the fishing lure. And Amazingly, Gunnar agreed to a second date and the rest is history. Gunnar & I have been together nearly 9 years since those days and we have been blessed to share in all of life's most precious mile stones so far. We have also bared witness to some of life's hardships and found solace in each others arms when negativities & adversity reared its ugly head. So welcome to your part in Gunnar & I's story, as we take on the exciting unknowns and memories as husband & wife. Please enjoy your time and give us warm wishes on this new adventure.
