What time should I arrive for the wedding?
We recommend arriving Friday, June 13th to ensure you can travel safely to the campsite before dark. The ceremony will be on Saturday, June 14th, so you can plan to stay through Sunday, June 15th, but feel free to arrive as early as Wednesday, June 11th, and stay until Monday, June 16th!
The ceremony caravan will leave at 4pm SHARP!
How do I get to the campsite location? (THIS IS WHERE THE CARAVAN TO THE CEREMONY LEAVES FROM.)
From Antonito, CO, take US 285 south 0.3 miles to Hwy 17. Continue straight on Hwy17 and go 21.9 miles to Platoro sign (Forest Rd. 250). Turn right at sign onto Rd. 250 (dirt) and go 17.5 miles to campground sign. Turn left into campground. Stop by spot #17 when you arrive to let us know you've made it!
Where will we be camping?
We’ll be camping at Lake Fork Campground in Colorado, reserving the cul-de-sac of campsites #15-18. If you'd like to join us, please include your camping plans in your RSVP so we can account for tents and vehicles.
What kind of accommodations are available?
There will be tent camping available at our family campsite on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, there are cabins for rent in the nearby town. Please see the Travel tab for more information. Sleeping and meal accommodations are the responsibility of each guest, but we will be serving dinner at the wedding. If you need help with meals or camping gear, please reach out!
Are there any food options available during the weekend?
We will be providing dinner at the wedding. If you're interested in additional meals, Skyline Lodge Diner, as well as The Gold Pan offer delicious food, including fresh Amish pies and a variety of home-cooked dishes. You can also pick up souvenirs and fun trinkets at the diner to remember your trip!
What should I do if I miss the caravan to the ceremony?
If you miss the caravan, unfortunately, you won’t be able to make it to the ceremony, as the road is inaccessible without 4WD. We will be filming the ceremony, though, so don’t worry—you can still be part of the moment!
Is there cell service at the campsite?
Cell service may be spotty in the area due to its remote location, so please be prepared to disconnect and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. If you need to reach anyone in case of an emergency, you can pay to make a call from the landline at Skyline Lodge.
Do I need a 4WD vehicle to attend the wedding?
Yes, the road leading to the ceremony site at Kerr Lake requires a 4WD vehicle. If you don't have one, please plan to join the caravan for a ride. We will have additional seats and truck beds available, so you won’t miss the ceremony!
Can I bring my dog or pet to the wedding?
While we love animals, the remote nature of the venue, combined with the challenges of traveling on dirt roads, makes it difficult to accommodate pets. We ask that you leave your furry friends at home for this event.
Will there be any activities or entertainment after the ceremony?
Yes! After the ceremony, we’ll have a celebratory dinner and lots of time for fun. We’ll be hosting a variety of activities to enjoy together, including dancing, games, and, of course, making plenty of memories with great friends and family.
