In 2023 we got married! You helped make that happen and it was awesome. So awesome, in fact, that we'd like to invite you all to get together again this year. Here's some of the story for how that came about: "So my buddy Morgan helps run this Burning Man camp, they have an extra ticket, and you're one of the few people I know who's impulsive enough to camp with 15 strangers in the desert with two weeks notice. What d'ya say?"-Ben Evans, July 28, 2015 Thank You, Ben Evans. Having met in 2015 at Burning Man,* Morgan and Daria stayed friends as Morgan built maker spaces and got elected to city council in Truckee, and Daria schemed about making Reno the Usonian center of immersive theatre before getting accepted to grad school at UT. *Technically, in Truckee, first, but whatever. In 2017, Daria came back out to Reno for a wedding, to see an Eclipse, and to go to Burning Man. Morgan and Daria *may have* hooked up after seeing the eclipse, and well, to put it succinctly, have started a summer fling that has ceased to end. Thanks for celebrating this total eclipse of the heart with us. And now, join us for a brief trip down memory lane. We hope there's just enough snark to keep you going

To quickly returnn to that first photo together, one can't help but wonder, 'Did they know?' Of course not. It took years for sparks to fly. And yet, when the depth of someone's smile goes keeps going out toward the horizon like that, I guess you just want to keep getting to know them better.

We believe strongly in bringing people together. Community not only nourishes us, the gathering rituals are the tent poles of our years and lives.

The First Eclipse Party

As you know from our story, we first kissed during an eclipse, and then got engaged at the next one. Very cute. When we held a ‘going away party’ from Truckee in 2019, we invited friends and family to join, and we called it an ‘eclipse’ party, so signify this is a special moment of alignment among our people.

Every Year?

Our intention has always been for this to be an annual ritual. Something that we would commit to, and our friends and family could look forward to… 2020 and 2021 were tough on that, but we got back in the swing of things.

2022: Keene Engagement Eclipse Party

In 2022 we gathered in Keene, NY at Morgan’s family’s house for our eclipse party. We billed this as our engagement party! (Fun fact, we’d planned to have the wedding that weekend, and we took the non-refundable deposit for the tent rental company and used it to get a tent.)Then we got together in NYC with a bunch of friends for a similarly matching engagement celebration.

2023: The Wedding!

Our wedding was the 2023 Eclipse party. (Biggest ever!) We gathered at a summer camp in the San Bernardino mountains for two nights of fun, games, dancing, hiking, singing and delight.

2024: Keene Again

We returned to Morgan’s parents house for a summer weekend of hiking, swimming, eating and singing around the campfire.

2025: Truckee Labor Day

In lieu of Burning Man, we invited everyone to Truckee for Labor Day weekend. We rented a big house in downtown Truckee, went for a long hike and spent an evening at the hot springs.

Our intention

We plan to keep doing this. By calling it an ‘eclipse party’ we know its a bit confusing - the celestial event of one heavenly body moving between the sun and another is serious business and we regret any confusion we cause. On the other hand, people can align into special configurations, sometimes in random locations and ever-changing dates, for significant moments. We hope you’ll join us. We made a little logo a few years ago. Two lines coming into the eclipse, and three coming out. The third is the relationship between us, but also all the magic from the many many relationships that get transmuted through these alignments of meaning

What to Wear

﻿Attire is: Festive Cocktail! which means something like:-&nbsp;blazer and tie or suits (we love suits!)- cocktail dresses, fab jumpsuits, flowy chiffon (but probably not your cotton summer dress!) we're keeping attendants VERY small (Daria's Mum, Morgan's Brother) BUT you're what makes the wedding a party. ie - you're ALL our wedding party.&nbsp; The celebration palette is: Forest Green | Peach &amp; Terracotta | Graphite | Gold which is to say:-if you wanna dress to somewhere in that palette: AWESOME -and if you'd rather just do you, DO. BTW, SHOES:we'll walk on a lot of grass, not all of it smooth. We may process a few hundred paces to the ceremony and back. Your comfort and ankle stability is important to us. can't wait to see you all looking fab. thanks for getting dressed up with us &lt;3

What to Pack

Pack all your normal things! Other Things to Pack:-Sports / Field Game Attire &amp; Sneakers- Bathing Suit &amp; Beach Towel- An Instrument? (For Fri &amp; Sat Bonfire Sing-a-longs...)- A Layer or Two (it might get chilly!) What's in the rooms? There will be the usual: Sheets, Towels, Comforters. Soaps/Shampoos &amp; Towel Sets. Please Note: Dovid Oved does not have hair dryers in the room.

STAY AT DOVID OVED

Our venue, Dovid Oved, is a hotel/summer camp, and we hope and expect that most of you, if not all of you, will spend two nights here with us! The campus is lovely, with lots of activities, views, gathering spaces and more. For those that stay, Saturday Breakfast &amp; Lunch are included. NOTATE BENE: We are handling bookings and payments, so please do not contact the venue directly. In your RSVP form, let us know what style room you'd like, and then send us a payment so we can pay the venue in one lump sum. To make life less stressful for us, the sooner the better. We'll be handling lodging logistics until April 15. Please RSVP and send your payment by then.

Hotel Style Room

Each hotel room has two queen beds with an en suite bathroom. Please Note: There are only 20 hotel rooms - we shall try to accommodate all requests while giving preference first to family and elders. Pricing (2 Nights + Sat Breakfast/Lunch):Adults: $275/personKids (3-10 Years): $220/child

Private Cabin Style Room

Each private cabin-style room has 6 bunk beds and a private bathroom. While each room can handle up to 6 people, you will have it to yourself unless you specify otherwise! That said, if you'd like to share a cabin with some friends, please let us know. All rooms have a min occupancy of 2 - if you're flying solo, let us know and we'll help you find a buddy. Pricing (2 Nights + Sat Breakfast/Lunch):Adults: $175/adult for the two-night stay.Kids ages 3-10: $125 per child. Please Note: There are 38 cabin rooms.

OTHER OPTIONS: We're so excited to spend time on-site with you at Dovid Oved. That said, if you'd prefer to stay off-site, the town of Running Springs does have other lodging options a couple miles away. Please let us know if you're considering this so we can see how to best loop you in for the less structured parts of the weekend.
