"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church." Ephesians 5:31-32
We met & got to know one another at George Whitefield College while studying theology. We enjoyed a friendship for eight months and connected specifically over music & running. The weekend of 3-5 September we visited the Nels' farm in Citrusdal with two of our friends. Out of nowhere, one of us (we won't say who) realised they were seeing the other differently. But nothing changed until the end of October when we spoke about how we felt.
We agreed to give each other time and space, committing to prayer and counsel to confirm if this was what God wanted for us. We eventually felt much peace around it and wanted to move forward with the parents' blessing. Greg & Wendy wisely guided us in patience toward friendship for six more months.
At the end of those six months, Darlington took a trip to Gqeberha and got the 'green light'. It was so worth the wait. We started dating on the seventh of July 2023. Since then, our love, friendship & joy have continued to grow. One of our greatest memories being Edin's trip to Zimbabwe in January 2024. God has richly blessed us with an amazing community of friends & family, near and far, who have walked alongside us with support and guidance.
We knew from the beginning that we wanted to do life together...and on the eighth of June 2024, we got engaged! Now, we look forward to our wedding & our future; trusting the Lord to guide and provide wherever He leads us.
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."
