"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church."
Ephesians 5:31-32
What date should I RSVP by?
Please RSVP by the 8th of November through our website or a private text message (to either Darlington or Edin).
How do we get to the venue?
Wherever you are coming from, make sure to get onto the M3/Simon Van Der Stel Freeway. Take the exit onto the M40 (Tokai Road) toward Tokai. Drive about 500m down Tokai Road and Tokai Community Church (TCC) will be on your right. You should see a grey building with signage saying "Tokai Community Church". Please be careful turning right - the road can be quite busy. There is a traffic circle further up Tokai Road if you would prefer to turn around. As you drive in, turn right through the grey gate into the bigger parking lot and please fill in parking from there.
What should I wear?
We don't have a specific dress code. Wear whatever makes you comfortable & happy! December is summertime so the weather should be warm. However, Cape Town is very unpredictable so please be sure to bring a jersey or jacket.
Is the wedding inside or outside?
The ceremony will take place inside the church hall. After you have parked, walk through the pedestrian gate (you would've seen this as you drove in). You will then see the garden on your left and the main entrance on your right. Enter the foyer and walk straight into the hall. There will be people to welcome & guide you.
The photos, refreshments & reception will then take place in the garden outside.
Can I bring a plus one?
We kindly request that only those who have received an invitation by name attend. Due to limited numbers, we unfortunately cannot extend an invitation to plus ones.
Can I bring my kid(s)?
Unfortunately, we are not able to cater for children at our wedding. We kindly ask that only children invited by name come with you. Thank you for understanding.
Will there be an open bar?
No. There will be a variety of drinks for refill throughout the night. There will also be sparkling & still water available. Please note that we will not be serving alcoholic beverages; you are welcome to bring your own.
What is on the menu?
Between the ceremony & reception, there will be a Harvest Table with various snacks to eat. This will be our "starter". Once the Reception begins, we will enjoy a braai selection together including meat, vegetables, salad & sadza! This will be served in a buffet form. A little bit later into the evening, we'll finish off with some delicious dessert & ice cream.
What is there to do in the area?
Cape Town is full of things to see & do! Around the city centre, you can visit the V&A Waterfront and the Two Oceans Aquarium (they do charge a tourist fee). You could also take the cable cart trip up Table Mountain or a free drive up Signal Hill to see the wide views of Cape Town. If you're a fan of the coast, some stunning beaches include Sea Point, Clifton, Hout Bay and our local spot - Muizenberg. For all nature lovers - just a few blocks from our wedding venue is the Tokai Forest, which is perfect for walks. If you've got some extra cash there are also plenty of wine farms and restaurants in Constantia. To see an extensive list of things to do, visit a website called 'TripAdvisor'!
