It all started in 2013 when Darren and Kaitlyn were introduced at a bar that was a favorite amongst the Sunderland locals.&nbsp;Kaitlyn’s roommate had suggested going to this bar one Tuesday night so that he could introduce Kaitlyn to a ‘REALLY cool guy’ named Darren.&nbsp;And the rest is history!&nbsp;Just kidding&nbsp;The bar closed for a short time for renovations and Darren unfortunately, broke his leg in a snowboarding accident.&nbsp;So, Darren and Kaitlyn didn’t reconnect until months later.&nbsp;But they picked up where they left off; filling each other in on what they had been up too and HOW Darren ended up in a full leg cast.&nbsp;But after multiple Tuesday night bar meet ups, Darren worked up the courage to ask Kaitlyn to get lunch (not dinner) at Local Burger in Northampton.&nbsp;Although it was one of the messiest meals Darren could have picked, they had a great time talking for hours.&nbsp;&nbsp;The end of the school year was approaching for Darren and Kaitlyn had just been accepted into a 3 year Graduate School program at UMass.&nbsp;They had talked about taking their relationship to the next step but Darren was moving to Eastern Massachusetts and Kaitlyn didn’t want to start a ‘long distance’ relationship.&nbsp;&nbsp;But they continued to make time for their friendship and stay in each other’s lives.&nbsp;They introduced more of their friends to one another and shared experiences that they both enjoyed.&nbsp;Darren invited Kaitlyn to her first Harpoon festival in Boston and Kaitlyn shared her love of London with Darren (and Justin).&nbsp;&nbsp;After finally finishing Graduate school, Kaitlyn moved to North Attleboro and landed a job in Boston.&nbsp;Darren and Kaitlyn continued to hang out more since they were both working in the city.&nbsp;So, one night Kaitlyn asked Darren out on a dinner date to a recommended Mexican restaurant near Darren’s work.&nbsp;And the rest is history! (for real this time)&nbsp;Seven years later, after living in a couple of apartments, taking vacations, buying a house, adopting a crazy black cat, and creating countless memories filled with love, we’ve built an incredible life together. Now, we’re thrilled to invite our friends and family to join us as we take another big step into the next exciting chapter!

Justin has been one of my closest friends since meeting freshman year in college. He's been a part of my family and vice versa for all the holidays, bad cars, and worse rap songs. We have traveled all over together, but this might be the most trip we've asked to join. We can't wait to embark on this journey knowing you have my back.

Liz is famously my 'first best friend' but you might actually hear that HER best friend is Darren (Rude, but I get it).  We made a famous Newicks packed when we were little that she was going to be my maid of honor.  But packed or no packed, she would have always been my number one pick to be my maid of honor.

Kara is my younger sister and self proclaimed 'funniest one of the family.'  After telling Kara that Darren and I were together, she proudly joked that I was the last to know.  She and the rest of the family always knew that we were meant to be together.  They were all just waiting for me to figure out it.

Amanda and I met at UMass freshman year and quickly bonded over our love of the beach.  There isn't a UMass story that doesn't involve Amanda, our shenanigans, and a night at Stackers.  She's been the best advice giver and listener during college and beyond.

Kelly is the first person I called after Darren and I officially became a couple.  She made me feel extremely welcome into the Rolling Green friend group.  Kelly is famous for 'always being down to do fun things', and we've made so many memories together over the years.

Nicole is known by many as my work wife.  We met when I started working at MCPHS and became fast friends.  Nicole quickly learned about Darren and famously suggested Lolita's which I consider our first official date.

Jenn is my oldest friend and an honorary McNamara sister. We've had countless inside jokes that stemmed from elementary school and beyond. She's also the main reason why I know anything about Boston sports.

Hi friends and family! This will be the location of the main event. Please feel free to leverage the room block or ask for rooms facing the ceremony space. We are happy to coordinate and share specific room numbers with you if you have a preference such as less stairs or larger groups.

The Nonantum Resort

This is very nice, boutique alternative to the main resort. Since there is plenty room for the main resort, we will not have a room block for hotel. This option is still within walking distance but will also provide a shuttle to the Nonantum Resort. There are only 25 rooms available here so if you like this option for a quieter stay closer to town book in advance!

The Boathouse Waterfront Hotel

Another great alternative hotel on the same road as the venue space! The floating pool has made this hotel a fun option for many guests!

Yachtsman Hotel & Marina Club

Closer to the main street, this hotel offers a great location to explore the restaurants and shops while you're in town!

Kennebunkport Inn

The Colony Hotel is a historic, charming oceanfront resort offering a classic New England experience with beautiful views. It boasts a heated saltwater pool, organic gardens, and a dog-friendly atmosphere. Guests often appreciate its historic charm and picturesque location.

If you're traveling from out of town, we'd recommend flying in to Logan Airport in Boston, MA. There is an airport in Portland, ME that would be a closer drive with less traffic. However, there are significantly more flights through Boston that will reduce the overall cost of travel. Delta, JetBlue, and American are the best options in terms of flight availability (in that order).

Book your hotel and get excited! There will be more to share as we get closer to the big day. We would recommend checking the site again after receiving your invitation since we'll add a lot more information related to the itinerary. At the moment, we just want to secure a hotel room and flight if you need one.

Activities in the Kennebunkport and Portland area! There are several options in the local area that highlighted in this post from the Travel + Discover Maine <a href="https://www.visitmaine.net/things-to-do-kennebunkport-maine/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">website.</a> There are more activities a little further out in Portland and Ogunquit. We can highlight the best options below!

This tour group covers historical tours, dog tours, and normally whale watching tours as well! However, the season for boat tours will end in early October for most places. Food tours have been some of our fondest memories in new cities. They also offer options in Portland and hope you have a chance to book one during your visit!

Kennebunkport Walking Food Tour

This is a fun activity to do with the family and enjoy the fall foliage in the area. They offer options for both doubles and quads and is only roughly an hour!

Revolution Rail Co. Kennebunkport

We have done the bus tour and walking tour several times with friends and highly recommend traveling up to Portland to experience and learn more about the local beer industry! They also offer boat tours of Casco Bay if you're interested in seeing the ocean and islands in the area.

Maine Brews Cruise

Explore the islands on Sunday such as Peaks Island and Great Diamond Island to escape the crowds. This can be a fun adventure off the beaten path to see a more rustic side of Southern Maine that would not involve camping. That being said, these islands tend to have residents and restaurants to avoid needing to pack more than a sense of adventure!

For those who are looking for a more Halloween inspired activity, there is a walking ghost tour. A spooky, fun time exploring Kennebunkport after dark!

Their main location is also great in Portland and there are notable favorites such as <a href="https://www.barreledsouls.com/home" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Barreled Souls Brewing</a>, <a href="https://www.definitivebrewing.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Definitive Brewing Company</a> (either Kittery or Portland), and <a href="https://www.austinstreetbrewery.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Austin Street Brewery</a>. P.S. - <a href="https://bissellbrothers.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bissel Brothers</a> is great too, just not one of our favorites.
