Gabby: It all started in Dr. Breidenbach's Western Civ class during my freshman year of college. The first time I remember meeting David, after seeing him a few times in class, is when I approached a few classmates (shoutout to Hope Schmidt) in the cafeteria to ask about studying for the upcoming exam together.

David: All I remember was some cute girl in our class coming up to that table with her back turned to me asking someone else in our class to study... The first time I actually talked to her was a bit later, still in the cafeteria. She had the sweetest smile and the cutest laugh I'd ever heard. From there, we did end up having several late night study sessions.

Gabby: After a semester of studying and spending time together, we became good friends and stayed in touch over Christmas break. When we returned to campus in the spring, I could tell he wanted to ask me out. From there, it was just a waiting game to see how long it would take him.

David: She claims I took forever... and missed several chances... I think I had perfect timing.

Gabby: In early February, David asked me out on a date, and I said yes. He literally asked me out right as one of my friends was walking up to us (shoutout to Emilia Drost). By March, we were officially dating, and life was perfect.

David: She didn't even mention how I cooked dinner for her on our first date... I think I went all out for this girl. We took the picture attached here on our first date. Very momentous day.

Gabby: My amazing freshman year roommate took that picture on our first date, and she actually ended up taking our engagement photos 2.5 years later.

David: Yup, after 2.5 years of dinner dates, long walks, cooking together, etc. I proposed at sunrise, and she said yes with tears in her eyes (best day ever).

Gabby: We've done so much together! We've gone on trips to Marco Island, Miami, Sanibel Island, New Hampshire, and Washington state! We've done beach trips, hikes, and campfires. We've watched dozens of sunrises and sunsets. But my favorite time spent with this man has been the time we are kneeling side by side in the chapel. I can't wait to finally be his wife!
