Wedding Reception

Our Wedding

David and I met at a dinner party at the Elks Lodge in Petersburg Alaska. He was hired on the F/V Obsession for longline fish, as my brother-in-law was the captain at the time. This was on October 26, 2018 (hence the wedding date). He was nicknamed Mr. October by my close friends, so from this day on it became our anniversary and a special day for me. On September 2, 2023, David brought me up to a clearcut on Woodpecker Road and proposed. It was a sunny day and one of my favorite days to date. Our colors are emerald, gold, terracotta and black. We are getting married at LeConte Glacier in Alaska. I was born and raised in Alaska and having a fall wedding (after moose season) is an ideal wedding for the both of us. The views, fall vibes, and adventure of saying our vows at the Glacier, no matter the weather, will be a great day!

Little Stories

David and I have a Zoo of animals even though it is against his wishes. I have always wanted a farm and he lets me run my rescue program out of our house, so I guess that’s close enough. For my birthday this last year he bought me two Nigerian Dwarf baby goats, Tink and Donkey! They make every day that much better because of their goofiness. They get along with all the other animals and even though an impulsive gift, the best addition to our pack. They will be making a guest appearance at our wedding reception! We currently have 4 dogs (at the moment), 2 cats, and 2 goats.

Motley Zoo 

David and I love camping and hunting. We recently purchased a Hewscraft and it takes us on all our adventures around Southeast Alaska. From renting Forest Service cabins, running our jet boats up the river, tent camping, or even sleeping in one of our many rigs we have staged on different islands, it’s always a good time. All of my favorite memories of camping with David start with a good cooked steak on a sandy beach watching the sun go down with tunes on. Our Honda Talon is also a way for us to get out of "city limits" on the island and look for critters or treasure.

Wedding Party

Hello everyone! Some things to consider when coming to the reception.... Please do not drink and drive! There will be free cab rides provided from the reception! Leave your truck at the field or get dropped off please! Remember, people &amp; pets live up on Excel street and there will be little kids running around and it will be DARK, so please drive with extreme caution!!! We have spoken with Public Works and we are blocking off the whole right side of the street. Please avoid parking in someone's driveway! Do not move our signs or cones, we have done this for safety! As mentioned before, maybe just get dropped off and take a cab home! We have heaters inside the tents but dressing casual and warm is highly encouraged. (Norwegian sweater &amp; xtratufs like true Petersburg style) Please Tip your bartenders at the field! We will be serving game meat tacos or nachos, halibut tacos, halibut and shrimp chowder, ceviche, Pico de Gallo, and as usual baseball field fashion...HOT DOGS! The wedding party is due to arrive around 4pm from LeConte Glacier. If we are running late due to weather, we will make updates here on the questions and answers page so please check back on the day of for any last-minute changes! Please leave your DOGS at home! We have spent days cleaning all the dog poop from the field and surrounding area, plus our goats may make a guest appearance.
