Our Wedding

Brock and Deanna’s story puts Hallmark to shame. Deanna had been planning for a few days to go to her friend Kimberly’s house for dinner, but when the day came around Kimberly’s daughter, Ally, asked Deanna to come watch her cheer at her school’s basketball game. After the game, Kimberly had to take Ally to open gym, so Deanna couldn’t head straight over to Kimberly’s house. Ally going to open gym is something she only did once or twice a year, so the fact she was going that particular night was unusual. Because of the change of plans, Deanna needed to kill some time. Rather than going home just to turn around an hour or so later to head to Kimberly’s, Deanna asked Kimberly if she wanted to get margaritas while Ally was at open gym and head to their house after. Kimberly wanted to pick up pizzas for the family for dinner, so she suggested instead they go to Brick &amp; Brews, a little mom and pop pizza, beer, and wine bar. Deanna had never heard of Brick &amp; Brews but it sounded good. Kimberly got there a few minutes before Deanna and found the only open seat in the restaurant, which was at the very end of the bar. This just so happened to be right next to Brock and his usual seat. Deanna walks in and sees the place is packed! A few minutes after she got there, the person sitting on the other side of Brock got up and left, and Brock offered to scoot down so Deanna and Kimberly could both sit. Brock left his work phone sitting in front of Deanna, so she picked it up and handed it to him while making a joke about how he must be important because he had two phones. Brock, Deanna, and Kimberly all spent the next hour casually chatting off and on. They talked about travelling, dachshunds, family, work, baseball, and eventually how terrible the dating seen was. Brock commented that he had absolutely no interest in dating anyone and Deanna said that she was by no means searching, but that if something came along she would be open to it. While they had a LOT in common, neither one throughout the conversation ever had the thought of “oh hey, I’m interested in getting to know this person romantically” because they just weren’t looking. When Deanna and Kimberly were getting up to leave, Brock was yapping with the person sitting on the other side of him. Not wanting to interrupt, they started gathering their things and got up without a word to Brock about leaving. Brock felt the rustle beside him and turned his attention to the two. Something all of the sudden sparked inside of Brock, and he doesn’t know what prompted it, but he did something he claims he has never once done before. He asked for Deanna’s number so they could chat a bit more. Deanna obliged, thinking this was the start of a new friendship, especially after Brock had been so clear that he had no interested in dating anyone. Over the next week, they texted here and there, and Brock eventually invited Deanna to come hang out in the kitchen of his business, CruKats. Deanna agreed and Brock made her an Italian Wedding Soup and lasagna for dinner. They spent about an hour and a half just talking and getting to know each other. Deanna *now* considers this their first date. A week later Brock asked Deanna to go to The Republic Grille for lunch. Deanna had NO idea Brock was actually interested in her. Throughout the next few days Brock made a few comments that eventually lead Deanna to tell Brock that she was extremely confused because he was saying sort of flirty things, yet he was insisting he didn’t want to date anyone. At this point it became evident they had two VERY different ideas of dating. For Deanna that meant hanging out, going on dates, getting to know each other, and eventually entering into a relationship. For Brock that meant going on dates with different women, dating sites, and really just being out there searching. Once their individual definitions were cleared up Deanna realized Brock really was interested in her. After a few weeks of getting to know each other better, Brock asked Deanna to be exclusive and officially be his girlfriend. They laughed about how odd that sounded given their ages, but they embraced it, nonetheless. Deanna got to meet his kids, Kate and Cruz, about 6 months later. Their relationship grew, they fell in love, they had some ups and downs, but eventually they realized they wanted to spend the rest of forever together. A little over a year later they moved in together and then came a dachshund of their own named Beaux. Brock eventually (finally, if you ask Deanna) took Deanna to the same spot where they had met and in the midst of a river of tears he got down on one knee to ask the question she had been dying to hear. But once he was on his knee, he forgot to actually ask the question and tried to just slip the ring on her finger. Upon her reminder that he had to actually ask her, he said “you’re gonna marry me, right?” Deanna, through tears of her own, responded with “of course I am, baby!”

For our out of town guests we have reserved hotel room blocks at the 3 hotels listed below in the Conroe and The Woodlands areas. Feel free to book a room at one of these hotels for a discounted rate or find one of your choosing. AirBNB and VRBO are always options, as well! Our wedding venue is on the border of Conroe and Montgomery so we recommend Conroe or The Woodlands for lodging. If you are flying into the Houston area the nearest airport is Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Another option is Hobby Airport (HOU), however, it is considerably further, and depending on traffic levels it can be anywhere from a 1-1.5 hour drive to our area.

Can we bring our children?As much as we adore your children, we’ve decided to keep our wedding an adults-only event, with the exception of a few immediate family children. We hope this gives you a chance to enjoy a night off and celebrate with us! Can I take photos?We kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos during our ceremony. We've chosen to keep this moment intimate and distraction-free, and we're leaving the photography to our professional team. That said, feel free to snap and share all the memories during cocktail hour and the reception - we can't wait to see the night through your eyes! When should I RSVP?Please RSVP no later than August 30, 2026. What should we wear?Our dress code is Formal, Black Tie Optional. If you have a tux, this is the moment! Otherwise, a dark suit is perfect. Gowns, floor length dresses, or formal separates are welcome. No jeans allowed. Can I bring a plus one?Although we would love to offer a plus one to all of our guests, we have a strict guest list to maintain our budget and meet venue restrictions. We appreciate your understanding and can't wait to celebrate with you! What time should I arrive?Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30. Please plan to arrive at 4:00 to allow time to park and be seated by one of our three ushers. If you arrive after the ceremony has begun you will be asked to wait in the cocktail hour area. What happens between the ceremony and reception?Our guests will be able to enjoy a cocktail hour while we finish up a few photos. Grab a drink, then mix and mingle on the covered porch. Will there be an open bar?We wouldn't have it any other way! You are coming to celebrate with us and our hope is that everyone will stay late, party, and have a memorable time. As always, please drink responsibly. Can I leave my car overnight at the venue?Yes. We would never want anyone to drink and drive. However, please leave your name and phone number on the dashboard if you need to leave your vehicle overnight. Our venue also requires that you return by 9am the next morning to retrieve your vehicle. Uber and Lyft both service our venue. What time does the reception end?Plan for a full night!
