Our Wedding

Deatra Soileau and Kyle Wommack's journey began in different corners of the country but converged into a beautiful tale of love and companionship. Deatra, born on April 17, 2001, in Houma, Louisiana, found herself moving to The Woodlands with her family in 2005. Kyle, born on May 8, 2000, in Bloomington, Illinois, moving to Conroe, Texas where his family settled in 2009. From a young age, Deatra embraced the thrill of exploration, dabbling in various sports and hobbies, from dance, gymnastics and softball to horseback riding and rugby. Her love for music led her to choir, where she showcased her talents from 3rd grade through senior year, even venturing into honor choirs and solo competitions. She played rugby for 5 years throughout high school traveling throughout Texas and the country. Currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Genetics at Texas A&amp;M University, she continues to pursue her passion for science and discovery. Kyle's journey was marked by his dedication to baseball, from his early days in t-ball to representing his varsity team at Willis High School and select teams traveling the country. Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&amp;M University, Kyle's academic achievements mirror his commitment to excellence. He now works at Hunton Trane as a Sales Engineer, where he has been selected to attend Trane's Graduate Training Program. Their paths intersected in 2017 during their sophomore year of high school, introduced by a mutual friend, Emily Counter, whom Kyle met at a Woodlands Vs. Conroe football game. Instantly bonding, they formed an inseparable trio, sharing laughter and adventures. Deatra and Kyle’s friendship blossomed into something deeper, culminating in their first date on February 14th, 2017, and officially becoming a couple on February 23rd, 2017. As they navigated high school together, their bond grew stronger with each passing day. When they weren’t at school, work or sports practice they were at the gym, watching movies or going to concerts. Graduating on the same day, from different schools - Willis and The Woodlands - they embarked on the next chapter of their lives, both heading to College Station to attend Texas A&amp;M in the fall of 2019. In December of 2022, Kyle orchestrated a breathtaking proposal in Buena Vista, Colorado, surprising Deatra with a trip to the picturesque mountains. Surrounded by friends turned photographers, Travis and Mitchell, and Travis' wife, Mae, Kyle asked Deatra to spend forever with him on the frozen lake of the Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir, and she eagerly said yes. Their engagement marked the beginning of a new adventure, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories yet to be made. As they journey through life together, Deatra and Kyle are bound by a love that knows no bounds, united in their commitment to each other and the extraordinary journey that lies ahead.

Catarena and Deatra met in chemistry lab, their friendship evolving from study buddies to best friends. They spent countless days studying at Starbucks, playing video games, and talking until the late hours of the night. Catarena is a ball of energy and laughter whose positive spirit and infectious enthusiasm light up every room. She brings warmth, laughter, and unwavering support to their journey. Deatra and Kyle are thrilled to have her by their side on this special day!

Emily and Deatra's friendship dates back to 1st grade, when Emily asked a simple question that sparked a lifelong bond: "Do you want to be Best Friends?" Since that moment, their bond has remained unbreakable. Not only has Emily been a great friend to Deatra, but she also played a pivotal role in bringing Deatra and Kyle together in 2016. Her unwavering support and friendship mean the world to us.

Sierra and Deatra met in biochemistry at Texas A&M University, quickly bonding over countless long nights of studying. Their friendship grew as they spent time together outside of studying. From grabbing lunch and spending weekends in Bandera, to enjoying evenings at the ballet, Sierra has become an integral part of Deatra's life. Sierra is incredibly kind and caring, always offering a level head in times of need. She brings strength and unwavering support and Deatra is grateful to have Sierra by her side on this special day!

Deatra couldn’t imagine her wedding without her brother, Austin, playing a pivotal role. The rings, symbolizing their commitment to love and faithfulness, are the most important part of the ceremony for the couple. They are honored to have Austin bring the rings down the aisle and present them during the ceremony. His presence and support mean the world to Deatra, and having him stand by her side throughout the ceremony adds an extra layer of love and significance to their special day.

After Kyle transferred to Willis High School, he and Daniel became friends in Spanish class and bonded over their shared passion for baseball. They spent numerous hours commuting to practices, games, and tournaments together. Their friendship deepened throughout high school, culminating in a memorable final season of summer ball after graduation. Despite attending different colleges and pursuing separate paths, Daniel has maintained a close connection with Kyle and values the friendship they share, including Kyle's relationship with Deatra. Their shared experiences in baseball and life continue to be cherished memories they fondly recall.

Travis' cousin Mitchell moved into the "Harry Potter" closet at their college house, where he quickly bonded with Kyle over shared interests. Over two years, their friendship grew through daily gym sessions and playing D&D together. Mitchell became more than just a companion for outings; he became a close friend. After graduating from Texas A&M University, both Kyle and Mitchell relocated to Rosenberg to begin their respective careers. Their shared journey from college friends to roommates reflects the enduring strength of their friendship.

Travis and Kyle first connected when they moved into their college house, where they bonded over shared interests in games like Escape from Tarkov and Rocket League. Despite Travis relocating after college, they have maintained a strong friendship, staying in touch regularly and making time to play games together every week. Their shared passion for gaming has helped them bridge the distance and sustain their close relationship over the years.

Bryce and Kyle have been friends since their days in junior high school, forming a close bond that has endured over the years. Bryce has been a supportive friend to both Kyle and Deatra, making sure to always bring over late-night sopapillas from Taco Cabana after work. Despite Bryce's time in culinary school in New York and San Antonio, they stayed connected, sharing memories through old photos of the times they shared. Known for his lively presence, Bryce is an essential part of their circle, and they are excited to have him at their wedding, adding his vibrant energy to the celebration.

Just like Daniel, Colton became friends with Kyle in their high school Spanish class during sophomore year. They bonded over frequent trips to Whataburger after practices. Even after Kyle went to Texas A&M University, Colton made an effort to visit or connect over video games, maintaining their friendship. Colton is cherished for his supportive nature and remains a close friend to Kyle and Deatra, always there to lend his unwavering support. Colton is the type of person you just love to have around and has been, and continues to be, a close friend who consistently supports Kyle and Deatra.

Avery and Kyle became friends through their shared experience playing baseball in high school. After Avery enlisted in the Marines following graduation, they maintained their bond by meeting up whenever Avery returned to town. They enjoy playing disc golf together and catching up over lunch, where Kyle eagerly listens to Avery's stories from his deployments around the world. Kyle values their strong friendship and the connection they've built over the years, despite the distances and challenges they've faced individually.
